@epicaddie2 You know I can’t say I’ve ever read any historical fantasy, at least not that I remember. But that’s really cool, especially because at the moment the medieval aesthetic is so heavily drawn upon. I’d love to read something that’s based more on a victorian-era style. What specifically makes your setting victorian, like is it the…[Read more]

@epicaddie2, nope, I was on there between Feb-April 2019. But yes, I keep in contact with a lot of people back on there too who I consider my closest friends.

Yes, Norway and Russia is a fantastic places for settings, (I haven’t done Norway yet myself). I’m no professor, but if you ever have any questions about ancient Russia, I might be able to help.

I really enjoy it! I mean, I’ve only had the opportunity to read ‘The Magician’s Nephew’ and ‘The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe’ fully, and am currently on ‘The Horse and His Boy’, which has been neat! The only problem I have with Narnia is that I can’t live there XD
Oh, neat! I’ve been writing a long time, too 🙂
First of all,…[Read more] -

LOL!! 😆
That’s the hardest thing for me, because I don’t know how quickly to start it. Some people write the inciting incident in their first chapter and some write it in the third, lol!! (I personally agree with you on that)
Thank you SO much!!!!!
I totally will, thanks!!!

I know you’ve written a bunch of great chapters!!!! 😃
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! That’s SUPER helpful!!!! I agree, first lines tend to hook readers. I do spend a lot of time on that, but I don’t want to overdue it. (I have read some books where it seems like the author spent two years writing the first line, lol!! &#x…[Read more]

Hey peoples!!! I am currently in that “writing-the-first-chapter-that-turns-out-to-be-a-dud-FIVE-THOUSAND-TIMES” phase… I may be over-exaggerating a little, but I’m sure y’all have felt like that before… 😄
So here are some details: Seia, the MC, is living in isolation from society, with only her sister and a couple of slaves as fr…[Read more]

@epicaddie2 Yes! I love pretty much every time period, depending on my mood. I’ve written several books set during the Golden Age of Piracy–but Medieval and Victorian were my first loves! There’s also Regency and the Wild West that hold special places in my heart…and Colonial America…and Biblical fiction…and, yeah, all of them!
Apart from…[Read more]

I also use Scrivener, which I love!! So helpful. I’ll attach a screenshot below to show y’all how it works.
You have parts, chapters, and scenes (as @godlyfantasy12 mentioned) that you can create. There are also character and setting sketches. It’s basically to help keep you organized while you’re writing. (You can also change the color sche…[Read more]

@epicaddie2 Hiya! It’s great to see another historical writer around here! I *think* I’ve seen you hangin’ around…
Apart from Fawkes, have you got any other favorite books (or authors?)
Also, have you ever read Gone with the Wind? (This is the question that keeps on giving, by the way. 😉 )
I love the sound of your WIP! I am a HUGE fan of…[Read more]

Well that’s actually an interesting story (okay maybe it’s not interesting) XD.
Actually ancient Russia has a lot to do with my WIP.
Though I love fantasy, I wanted to keep fantasy out of my novel for a few reasons concerning plot, but I needed a place that snowed most of the year (if not all year), was frigidly cold and had cer…[Read more] -

Hello Hello! And welcome back to the Kingdom!
I see you too have the same goal as I to read all of C.S. Lewis’s works! I grew up on The Chronicles of Narnia and am now reading his non-fiction works, I’m currently in the middle of Mere Christianity which despite the hype is exceeding my expectations.
Do you have a favorite book of…[Read more]

Well, if makes you feel any better, what you described is also a pretty accurate description of my brain.
Haha, yes, I totally relate to the “productive” procrastination. Like when I don’t feel like writing a scene so I just create character boards on Pinterest. You…[Read more]
