@rochellaine :’D Quite. Thank you very much; that was indeed in need of clearing up. I guess that’s what I get for not being around. 😛

@rochellaine whew! 😛 I will confess, you guys had me a little freaked out. I guess I missed the discussion where it all started. *fans self feverishly* That takes a load off my mind.

@northerner I haven’t been on either community as much as I would have liked. :'( When the hiatus was first announced it really hit me in the gut, since KP has been my rock for the past five years and one of the best things that ever happened to me.
At first, I was a little skeptical about the idea of a new site. Sure, Story Embers would be…[Read more]

@ariel-ashira a little. I’m part of one of the guilds, but not as active as I should be.

@ariel-ashira XD Preparing for a book launch. 😛

@leumeister it’s quite science-y but also plausible. 😀 I like the gravity manipulation thing. I have something slightly similar, only it’s a negative energy pulsar that basically creates a mini wormhole around the ship and enables almost instantaneous transportation.
Lots of cool ideas. 😀

@leumeister *grins* Thanks.

@leumeister I would love to, but unfortunately I’ve got a huge project on my hands right now (launching my first published book this year 😀 ) and I promised myself I wouldn’t take on anything extra.

@jenwriter17 heh… I’ve got the opposite problem. 😛
*scratches head* I would say probably the number one thing that makes my novels so ridiculously long is the crazy amount of time I spend really delving into the layers of chemistry in live scenes. I try to do all live scenes if I possibly can (no summaries, no overviews, no generalizations)…[Read more]

@Daeus my luck says this gif won’t work, but here you go anyway.
Awesome stuff. You should, like… I don’t know, do a course on it or something. XD

Mark Kamibaya replied to the topic Why Do You Blog? in the forum Non-Fiction 6 years, 9 months ago
@dekreel Idk I guess I also have relatively selfish reasons for blogging. My blog is really just a filing cabinet full of stuff I’ve learned (that might be helpful for other people).
Whenever I learn some really cool insight on Scripture or life in general I write up a blog post about it. Or if I want to delve into story theory/mechanics then I…[Read more]

@dekreel Yeah, film does rely heavily on the same concepts and theories as prose but I just prefer film. I actually wrote a short article on the main difference between book and film (shameless self-promotion there). And yes lol I see you like the nature/animated films. Personally, I prefer drama films that goes deep into character or pretty…[Read more]

@dekreel Lol yes I’m still alive. I’ve sort of drifted away from KP because of the busyness of college but also because it’s mainly a novel/short story website and I’m a film guy. However, I do check out the KP forums whenever I’ve been tagged!

@daeus Yeah, I’ve heard of that film festival! A couple of recent alumni from the college I go to had their short films screened at the CWVFF. The films were Who Is Jade, Grounded, Character Study, and Created and Redeemed.
