Ok, this is what we’re at now. I personally like it with the silver subtitle better, but I’m thinking it might be good to make the name gold. (There’s now a shadowed effect on the title like you said, @emma-flournoy) Any thoughts?

I have had a pretty serious writer’s block since… well, for longer than I care to admit. Anyway, I am really excited about I new book I have started plotting/planning (and so forth) but I haven’t a name for the main character. (Late 18th century England) I would love some help, hopefully a name will help get me out of the block.
Here are some…[Read more] -

@emma-flournoy That’s what I’m thinking. Say, do you think it might look better if the subtitle were gold too?

@kate-flournoy @emma-flournoy @anyone-else Ok, here’s with all silver and here’s with a gold title. I’m feeling like I liked it better with the silver title and gold subtitle, but I don’t think that was quite right either. Thoughts?

@emma-flournoy Thanks. Do you mean the whole cover, or just Edwin should be less dark?
Here’s another question for y’all. Do you think I should change the scarlet font to a different color? I think that might do a lot to give it a more historical action, less murder story feel. If so, any suggestions? Gold maybe?

Hey, y’all. I’m back with another cover here. I think my designer either misunderstood me or missed some of my changes, so it’s a bit different than what I was planning, but it ended up being pretty cool in my opinion. I get the feel that it’s…[Read more]

@Emma-Flournoy Actually, yes, Hemlin is something of an abused page boy. 🙂 And now that you mention it, I’m already starting to have second thoughts. I really like Silver Spark. 😛 (Seriously, the alliteration! Who doesn’t love it?) I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself. XD

Okay, here’s the pick of the litter: The Silver Spark/Flame, The Rogue Blade, The Spark/Flame of the Dimwood (courtesy of Daeus 😉 ).
I’m thinking I want to go with Spark over Flame, as long as it doesn’t sound juvenile, because rebellion is the flame, and Rodyn’s the one who sparked it. And silver is banned from being worn, because it was the…[Read more]

Whew, that’s a relief! And actually, the person who told me that just said that the name has grown on her since last we talked about it, so I feel reassured. @Christi-Eaton, he is officially Rodent among the villains. I just can’t help it. 😛
@Emma-Flournoy I’ve actually never heard of The Court Jester, maybe I should look into it. 🙂 I love…[Read more]

@Emma-Flournoy. Aww, thanks. We were going to go to the Academy of Arts production of Prince Caspian in South Carolina, but the performance we were going to up being canceled due to bad weather. So it’s kind of an indirect answer to prayer, because now we can exchange our tickets for a later performance when, Lord willing, Mom will be feeling b…[Read more]

Hello lovely wide world of Kingdom Pen! I have something for you to ponder when you’re not busy:
I have this character named Rodyn. (Yes, people, this is a fantasy. 😛 ) And he’s the dashing young leader of a raggle-tag group of commoners who hide out in the woods and try to sabotage the oppressive government as often as they can, as well as help…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy Well, your sister is a dragon, and I’m sure that the Moderators would not want a dragon fight on there hands. Don’t worry, I don’t usually melt people either. Chairs are much more satisfactory and I don’t regret it either.

We could not oblige them, and just not be driven insane, ya know…kinda thwart their flawless plot?

@emma-flournoy Hey, if you’re a wizard, you’re never late!
Ok, I know that one’s a little over used. I couldn’t help it. Lord of the Rings Geek compulsion. 😉
@aysia-serene Astrid isn’t real. *blinks foggily* Whoa. I never saw that one coming. Ok. *shakes head to clear the fog* I’ll add that one to the list of strange book-to-movie differences.

@emma-flournoy At the end of Two Towers, when Frodo and Sam were in Osgiliath, and Frodo was acting like a crazy person and shoving swords into Sam’s throat and stuff like that, and Sam came up with his little pep talk/inspirational speech to keep from dying (to paraphrase just a little XD). It’s part of that speech.
And yeah, that’s one of my fa…[Read more]-

Oh, well that’s good. In a way, of course. 🙂
I hope she’ll be better soon, and I’ll keep praying for y’all.
I assume that production’s a play? That sounds like so. much. fun!
Yeah, it’s a play. Last year, they did one of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and it was SO GOOD. LWW being one of my favorite things ever (book and movie), I wasn’t expecting much, but they really did an incredible job on it. So good, in fact, that Doug Gresham actually flew over from England for the premiere of PC. I thought that was kind of neat. 🙂
SO. MUCH. FUN!!
I don’t know who Doug Gresham is, but that sounds significant. 😛
Oh, sorry. Doug Gresham is C. S. Lewis’s step-son. He’s kind of significant. 😉
