@graciegirl Good for you!
@dragon-snapper Rogue One was fantastic! How dare the characters make me care and then do THAT?
@emma-flournoy I love Tolkien! I, a terrible English major, have never read Les Mis unless you count a little abridged version. The story is beautiful though.
@northerner Oops! George MacDonald did write that. The…[Read more]

@Emma-Flournoy Oh, I’ll definitely pray for you. I have quite a bit of experience with chronic health problems that seem to have no answers, not for myself, but for my mom, so I understand. And I used to have really bad headaches all the time, and they are No. Fun. So yeah, I’ll be praying. At least you get lots of people-watching experience,…[Read more]

@Emma-Flournoy eep that’s cool. I’ve been play flute for about four years (Maybe? I don’t actually remember now XD). But technically I learn the very basics of piano when I was about six, but I never really got into it until recently and I’ve been teaching myself.

Yeah, it was a pretty intense monologue.And yes, we started with a basic audition of a one-minute monologue, and then afterwards we have call back where we are grouped with other actors to just cold read from the script.

@emma-flournoy in case you are interested this is what I wrote and performed. One time I was practicing it and got so much into Beck’s head that I actually started shaking. I had to quit because I got so into it. Beck is probably one of my favorite character’s I’ve ever written (she’s based off of myself in a lot of ways) Anyway, here it is.…[Read more]

@Emma-Flournoy Heh, funny thing, that. I was going to enter HSLDA’s art contest, but being my lazy self, forgot to submit by the deadline. Oh well.
Oh. Drat. Well, I suppose he was in an unusually happy mood. And believe it or not, he’s the first drawing I’ve ever done with that much shading without a reference picture. I’m extremely proud of myself. 🙂

@Adry_Grace Yeah, that is weird. It happened to me a few days ago on the Les Mis thread, but I was able to post it later. I got the notification by e-mail—here’s what you said:
@emma-flournoy That’s a good thought.
I do not think that a hero is NECESSARY to an antihero. I think an antihero can function just as well as a character without a…

I’M STILL WAITING FOR THE FREAKING CAST LIST!!!! AHHHHH!!! It’s “supposed” to come out today, (but it never comes the day they say :/ ) I probably won’t get Belle though, there are a lot of girls with way more talent than I who could play her. I did a cold read for a singing, drunk bandit and in all honesty, I would be perfectly…[Read more]-
But I was told I totally killed when I did my audition monologue, and that was really encouraging to hear. Especially since I wrote it and it’s nice to hear when they like both what you wrote and your acting. (my monologue gave me a lot of feelings actually because I wrote it as one of my characters)
I’ll let you know who I get when I find the…[Read more]

Oh my, apologies. 😀 I guess they wouldn’t let you know what you get the same day you auditioned, now would they. 😛
A singing drunk bandit…how LOVELY. 😛 A female bandit?
But yeah…I can see how that’d be fun.

@Kate-Flournoy Well that took longer than I expected. Sorry I’m slow. 😛

And @Emma-Flournoy to.
By the way, Kate, can I just say that I am in awe of the lettering you did in both your drawings? (I’m in awe of the drawings too) I just keep staring at it, and each time it’s more beautiful than the last. 🙂

I know, your mom; is her problem something you think will be fixable sometime? I’ve been praying for her too.
Yeah…like, all of it. 😛 I have some math review I’ll be doing, and a couple more reports to write, and a rather large amount of history books to read still (but really, one should never stop reading educational books)…all…[Read more]

HA, I didn’t even think of it as taking that meaning. XD No worries in the least, and I probably would have done the same thing. I find myself feeling bad a lot for things I said that could be taken the wrong way and offend someone.
