@kathleenramm No, I haven’t tried. The time that I did try writing a story for a kid it ended up being kinda dark…thank goodness she couldn’t read…
My sister did write a kid’s book when she was a kid though! We’re probably all used to writing books for our age groups, haha…

Yes, I definitely agree about not having to read heavy material all the time. Sometimes, if I read too much heavy stuff it weighs on me and even gives me insomnia. Not that heavier books are bad, (they can teach you a lot of things), but too much of anything isn’t good.
So yeah, I too like to read a good children’s book here…[Read more]

SeekJustice replied to the topic If you got to be a screen writer for a movie, what type of movie would it be? in the forum Topic of the Week 5 years, 6 months ago
@kathleenramm Definitely a historical movie! Not so much a period drama (not like in the style of any of the Jane Austen/Jane Eyre/romance movies) but more like a biopic (or those movies that aren’t about real people but kind of have the biopic style), I guess. I’ve always dreamed of making a movie about the Wright Brothers in particular! There’s…[Read more]

Interesting question! The last book I read was The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson, which I finished yesterday! I think my favourite thing was how fleshed out the two main characters (Vin and Kelsier) were! I loved reading about them and rooting for them!
My least favourite thing was how long it was. That put me off reading it f…[Read more]

@kathleenramm Well, I’m in the middle of The Brothers Karamazov, and I haven’t quite finished it yet, so… Other than that, excluding all the manga and books I’ve read for school, the last book I read was… The Summer of the Swans, by Betsy Byars. It won a Newberry Medal. My favorite thing was how nostalgic I felt reading it. The copy I have i…[Read more]

What was your favorite and least favorite thing about the last book you read and why? And what did it teach you about writing?Â
The most recent book I’ve read is Spinning Silver, which is a retelling of Rumpelstiltskin.
My favorite thing about it was the atmosphere. It was like a magical winter wonderland and the author did a really good job at…[Read more]

@abigail-m Ah thank you! Shuangzhou means “frost day” in Chinese. And it’s so cool that you have a character named Adrian too!

Oh, yes! A Pirate movie/Tv show would be so fun to write a screen play to. To see your swashbuckling story come to life on screen would be truly amazing.
I Think I watched Beyond the Mask a while back. What are some of your favorite things about the movie?
Mafia and Fairies? I’ve loved both for a long time, but it never…[Read more]

So, I’ve been trying to decide which characters to rant about, as to help me develop them…I think maybe you guys have heard of my project The Mafia of Heather Flights? Which I’m currently plotting… Anyways, I did the most plotting and world building for this one, so…
Y’know what. I’ll talk about them some other day. Let me talk about this…[Read more]

@gracie-j Aw….so cute! Reminds me of that one story called Billy Budd by Herman Melville… *sniff*
@godlyfantasy12 Aw, that’s really sad… Makes for character motivations, I guess.

@writerlexi1216 *flashbacks to my old Goodreads groups*
This looks fun! I, however, have too many characters, so I think I’ll sit back for a moment before jumping in!

My very first novel was about anthropomorphic otters and was a typical revolution type story. I still have it somewhere and I’ve been desperately looking for the USB that has the story on it for months!
