@julia-r The only way I think you can do it is with a link. Do you (or someone in your family) have a social media account or a website?

@anne-of-lothlorien Actually, it never even crossed my mind that she learned it way too fast. Maybe it would have peeved me if I had thought of it, but since I didn’t, I guess I’ll just imagine I’m still innocent and remain content.

Aha! I was wondering when you’d show up. (moderators notice stalkers). Glad you finally poked your head above water. Drowning certainly isn’t recommended.
There’s lots of stuff to do on the forum. For instance…
If you make a big writing discovery, share it so we can all know about it too
Brainstorm with others about your story…[Read more] -

My birthday is September 4th.

@bluejay Seems like you did a pretty good job with the huge limitations of trying to fit all those words in there. One thing to note is that the lines:
“His words must be erroneously
They definitely weren’t symmetrically”
are not grammatically correct because of their -ly endings. As far as improvement, because of your limitations, I think your b…[Read more]

I’ve only really studied K.M’s system actually. I like it because it’s fairly simple (once you get to understand it), the plot points make it easy to lay out the pacing for a novel, it is easily tweaked to fit any of the three character arcs, it corresponds directly to the character arc itself, and I’ve been able to observe it in…[Read more]

@anne-of-lothlorien I do like it, though I think it could use some polishing. For one thing, some of the lines sound too every-day-speechy (e.g. “they don’t fear me”). One of the most important things in poetry is to say things in a way people don’t expect, especially by using metaphors.
One thing that really stuck out to me is that I’d like the…[Read more]

@anne-of-lothlorien Hey, I’m going to start it tomorrow. 😉 I’ve been…busy. Lots of stuff. Life. You know how it goes. I won’t have it by this Sunday, but I’m hoping to have it ready by the next time we’re at church. *crosses fingers*

@bluejay Well, I have written a Rapunzel retelling, and unpublished Sleeping Beauty retelling, and am currently working on a Hansel and Gretel retelling… As for other fairy tales, have you heard of Rooglewood? They have three books out now, each with five novellas in them focused around one story: Five Glass Slippers (Cinderella); Five Enchanted…[Read more]

@bluejay Oh, it sounded like you had chosen beauty and the beast. Are there going to be others too? Unfortunately, I can’t be much help even though I do really like chocolate. I’m simply not much of a fairy tale person.

@bluejay I just mentioned your name because there’s a character called the Bluejay in Inkspell (the second Inkheart book I just finished).
Also, no. The beast doesn’t have a name in most stories…I looked that up while writing Rose of Prophecy. The closest thing I could find was that he was sometimes called Adam somewhere. The name I gave him,…[Read more]

@bluejay So…like there’s a storybook world. Character run around and do what they want until they have to act out until someone reads the book then they have to act out their roles. But does this mean they have to act them out again and again and in any order? That could be interesting, though I’ve a feeling they would get bored with it very…[Read more]
