Hello there @ashlyvye! Welcome to KP. If you have any questions about where to find something on the site, feel free to ask!
Ooh, you like Harry Potter? Do you know which house you’d be in? *crosses fingers and hopes for Slytherin*

Well, for me, it’s price… I don’t have a job yet and there are other things I need to be able to pay for…
But also, it’s mainly that you’ve already helped me so much with show don’t tell just by working with me on my book. 😛 So… there’s not much demand on the Snapper side of things. (Unless you were to beta-read all my books. Lol)

@pickupyourpenandwrite Hello, welcome. Glad you are here 🙂 I saw that you like the show Heartland. I love that show. Glad I’m not the only one who watches it 🙂

@ingridrd Thanks!
@daughteroftheking Excellent. *evil chuckle* If you want to see more collages, or learn more about the story, I’ll be posting a lot about it starting on the first Friday of March and throughout the Fridays of March on my blog. (And that sounded a lot like advertising. Lol) 😛@jenwriter17 The funny part is that it fits his…[Read more]

@kaya-young Back in December I read, To Kill a Mockingbird, for the first time, and I really really enjoyed it. It was one of my favorites of the entire year. I don’t know why I didn’t read it sooner! 🙂
I also read, Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale. It’s a Grimm’s fairytale re-telling, and it was surprisingly good! Shannon Hale is a great…[Read more]

Well hello there! It’s nice to meet you @christianna-hellwig
Admittedly, I haven’t much advice to give, because I haven’t “done much”, as you put it in your post. I’m eighteen, but I’m still learning how to do things like finish a draft, create characters, create (and write) a solid theme. I like learning. Makes places like KP all the more…[Read more]

But if you just want to write for fun, you can basically do whatever you want :). And whether you intend to build an audience or not, the best tone to use is yours. Don’t try to be anyone else, like DG said.
I can’t even begin to tell you how important this is @catwing! Don’t forget it. 😉

I can’t stop thinking about this book I read a few weeks ago.
Scythe, by Neal Shusterman. I’m not gonna give any spoilers plot-wise, but suffice it to say that this book has amazing worldbuilding, the character development is really well done, and the overall concept of the book isn’t at all what I expected it to be–it’s better.
This…[Read more]

Yep, Slytherin and proud. 😉
Okay, so it sounds like you’ve got all your plot events in order, but what I haven’t heard you mention are the characters. What motivates the characters to go through with this? What are they trying to learn? Have you thought about that at all?

@rochellaine XD Yep! It’s quite amusing, although I have a strange case of internet paranoia, so I probably won’t confess anything. 😉 😛 If you know what I mean…
@seekjustice No, thanks for rambling. That is actually really helpful!
And I think I’m going to sign out now. I wrote 797 to my novel, and a beginning of a blog post. Now… I have…[Read more]

@seekjustice Well that’s good. XD I’m glad you’ve enjoyed it so far.
Soo… do you make comments on your novel before editing it? (I’m going to edit a book soon and it will technically be my first time editing a novel by myself on a computer. Yay…)
@rochellaine HI! Ooh, western. I’ve considered doing one of those before.

@seekjustice Yessss… 😀 So it makes sense why I’m listening to a slow love song by Andre Bocelli? ? No…. Haha!
XD I’m sure you can do it. And if not, I’m also sure we ‘negotiate.’ 😉

Dekreel Recommendations on their way. 😛
Steampunk
– The Rithmatist (Brandon Sanderson)
– Storming (K. M. Weiland)Both excellent books, and really really good.
Sci Fi
(a very broad genre so it depends exactly what you’re looking for?)–Â Insignia (S.J. Kincaid) (not the most amazing book, in my opinion, but okay)
– The Lunar Chronicles…[Read more] - Load More
