@christi-eaton I loved them. Loved them a ton, but I felt like the author made some really significant mistakes. First of all, the first five chapters were almost dull and I couldn’t get a really good feel for Fin like I had later on. I was also disappointed with how that french guy (I forget his name) seemed like he would play one of the most…[Read more]

@Christi-Eaton — I started the Mark of the Lion, but the violence was very graphic, so I was afraid the romance might also be too descriptive. Is it? I don’t trust myself to be able to handle that yet – when I’ve read adultish romance in the past it’s really caused me to struggle – but if it’s clean, I’d like to read it. The beginning was very…[Read more]

@hope That’s a good point. I do have different expectations for a modern as opposed to a classic book. Of course, good writing is always good writing, but each age has its own trends. For Sherlock Holmes, I really wish the villains showed more emotion and incorporation when they were caught and I thought there could have been more emotion,…[Read more]

@Daeus Sorry I didn’t respond until now. I was at a drama workshop all day. 🙂
I suggested Sign of Four because it was the only Sherlock Holmes novel haven’t read yet. However, if the people who haven’t read Sherlock Holmes think reading Sign of Four would be confusing as it isn’t the first novel in the series, then let’s read A Study in…[Read more]

@overcomer Thanks. *bites into cake. Yummy* Oh goody I love birthdays. *scrunches up eyes, clasps hands and makes a wish*
And just for your information I actually haven’t written a novella but a novellette. The difference is the words count. A novellette is 7,500-20,000. A novella is 20,000-50,000. And then a novel is 50,000-110,000. Any longer…[Read more] -

@christi-eaton Good! Hope you like it. But how could you know a book was good or bad till you finished it? Some are really good after the boring first half. 🙂
Thank you @hope. 😉 Well, my favorite genre is fantasy. What else. Favorite books within that genre— TLotR, of course; and The Hobbit. I like Narnia, though I’m not crazy over it. Come…[Read more]
