Emma Flournoy replied to the topic Is the "love interest" necessary? in the forum General Writing Discussions 9 years, 5 months ago
@Dragon-Snapper @GracieGirl @Winter-Rose Totally agreed.
They actually had a relationship, if you know what I mean. Not just a you-look-pretty-we-work-well-together thing. It meant something.
Gabrielle, exactly.

@ethryndal @emma-flournoy I think that if they had kissed at the end it would’ve messed up the scene.

Sometimes, simple is better. The hug at the end was WAY more powerful than any words or kisses.
AGREED. Gushing and kissing, sheesh. That hug was so incredibly sincere it was WAY better than any gushing or kissing would’ve been.

@graciegirl 😉 If I don’t have anything blocking me called writer’s block, my usual is a thousand or so in an hour.

@ethryndal Yes, a series. 😀 I already have three planned out, and an idea for the fourth. You’re the elf ruler.
@emma-flournoy Glitter. The Elf kingdom shall be very…glittery.
@rolena-hatfield 😀 Glad you liked it! -

This isn’t exactly pertinent to the topic, but I read this quote today and found it really interesting. I wanted to share it as it totally relates to writing and creativity. You don’t have to guess the source, but make sure you check out @ethryndal‘s to guess hers! 🙂

Thank you @aratrea for your suggestion and for the article! One of the points in the article that particularly stood out to me, was remembering why you wanted to write the book in the first place. Sometimes over the frustration of figuring out how to write something I want and not what I don’t, I can forget why I wanted to write that particular…[Read more]

@ethryndal Yes! I didn’t know if that quote would be too obvious. As for your quote, I have no idea! 🙂

@Dragon-Snapper I’m going to be an MC? Cool.
Yes, you should totally totally do more sequels. You can make it a collection of KP spoofs. THIS IS SO FUN.
Oh, and you’re very welcome for that prompt. If I’d only known…You should do something with @Ethryndal and her glitter everywhere, and her amazing snark. Oh and maybe her Galadriel-ness.

Thanks, Emma! I was ridiculously delighted when I saw it 🙂 Kingdom Pen has come to mean a great deal to me in the relatively brief time (less than a year) that I’ve been involved, and it was awesome to get that little shout-out.
I daresay you’ve come to mean a great deal to KP too. Judging from the reaction your articles always bring, for one thing. 😉
