@Cloudy I really like the intent/picture of the poem. The only thing I would suggest is either make it more obviously a rhyming poem or more obviously free verse, because I was a little confused by the alternating patterns.
Otherwise, I really like it. 🙂 -

A swirling sea rages,
within my weary heart,
a sadness and a longing,
ripping me apart.I long to stop the stormy seas,
that roars within my ears,
the warm salt water gushes,
and lines my face with tears. My pen is able,
calm the sea within,
keep my soul, my ship stable,
with words upon the page. And as the ink flows from my pen
A lighthouse do…[Read more] -

@feedingmygoldfish welcome! Did you draw your profile picture? I really like it. 😀 Have you read “Anne Of Green Gables?” You seem like someone who would enjoy her. 😀

1. I don’t outline. Nasty habit, I know. But it just doesn’t seem to work for me yet. I need practice. But the faucet of ideas just doesn’t flow until I start writing. So I can’t help on that topic. SKIP TO THREE
3. I use google docs. And I haven’t tried scrivener so I have no opinion. But I love google docs.
4. I would research…[Read more]

So I took a 6-day intensive on taming of the shrew. It ha quickly became my favorite Shakespeare play. So I wrote this blurb that would probably be stuck in the middle of the story somewhere:
The knight ride to the mouth of the cave. The afternoon light fell on him, dappled through the trees. The cave for which he had been seeking for o long…[Read more]

I’m bad with meter. I’m not done with the poetry curicculum and mom lost it like, two years ago. 🙁 But what meter would you suggest? I’ll look it up and try to tweak it. @daeus

I know I need to fix the narration. That’s why it’s in here! Thanks for the input! I’m glad you liked the ending. @jess

@winter-rose you’ll probably be done by the time I can write, but once I finish baking bread this afternoon, (I have to start by 2:00 p.m.) since the weather is spectacular, I’ll be in my favorite spot mapping out my children’s story. 😀

Congrats, Claire! @clairec
Here’s the thing–I’ve only recently started to outline any part of my stories whatsoever, so the outlines for my current WIP are more than a little scatterbrained.
What I find myself doing the most is writing a sort of outline where the plot points are emphasized–that way, I can fill in the blanks and add in the…[Read more]

Everyone here has already asked you a bunch of questions, but who’s your favorite author?
After I finish my AA, I’m going to be a creative writing major, and although I like writing poetry, it doesn’t come easily, so I definitely respect you for that.
Welcome to KP! *flies off to go brainstorm*

Today I reviewed Matthew 6:1-4. It’s funny how when I first memorized that small passage, it took me about half an hour but now it would take me about 10 minutes. Memorizing just gets easier and easier guys!

Awesome, @clairec! That definitely is a major step. Now for my answers
1. I’ve written an extended outline, but I’ve made some changes to my first novel so I have to rewrite my extended outline. 🙁 Personally, I dove straight into a first draft and then (after finding nuggets of gold in the sea of trash) I started intense theme/character/story…[Read more]

Well, it’s been about a week. And I don’t think anyone else will read the article so . . .
@daeus Thanks, man. How antiheroes were treated in the past is probably a little more speculative than most of my findings (I’m not that old, right). I just found that the popular figures in Greco-Roman mythology were classical heroes (Hercules, Achilles,…[Read more]

Tears trace themselves across his face,
His eyes, unmoving, staring into space. His heart feels dead inside him,
His heart turns cold and dim.His heart that once flamed with passion,
Now, is grim and ashen. His soul, though, still flames on,
And brings in him a new dawn.A flame of rage ignites his soul,
And he discovers his newfound…[Read more] - Load More
