@rachelle Hmm, I don’t know. I mean, there are so many angles you can take. 😀 Amnesia is fun. I’d make sure you are showing the sinfulness of the characters before they start regaining their memories, though. It’s not the past/memories that make them sin, it is their heart.
As for the lost memory… let’s see. Random fun things: you could give…[Read more]

@overcomer Thanks. 🙂 Yes, I love so many things about Lord of the Rings, but the theme of hope is one of my favorite things. 🙂

@daeus hmm, well, don’t have to use itunes. I just use it because you can go down and change the story really easy and so get links for about a dozen different national stores/sites. I’m not sure how it works it other places or if you could use one Smashwords link for all of them. If you do, let me know how it goes. 🙂

This is a disillusionment arc which spans a trilogy. Or rather the first two books and the first quarter (probably) of the last book before shifting into a positive arc.
The MC’s experiment in living is that good will always win and victory over evil here on earth is inevitable so long as one gives their all to the fight. Her experiment in living…[Read more]

@Daeus First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is very exciting. 😀
Second of all, in regards to price matching, it is much quicker if you contact Amazon yourself. I tried alerting them through the thing you mentioned with my first novella and after I few weeks I was advised to contact them directly. It only took them a day or two to fix it after…[Read more]

@northerner *scowls* I’m hardly on here anymore. Sadly… Unless someone tags me, I don’t generally see it. But still… amnesia.
*grins and rubs hands*
@rachelle Not that I have much to add. It does seem like a cool idea. One I’d like to read. 😀

@daeus I like the sentence change. I do like @graciegirl‘s version too… So, yes. Not much help. Just general agreement…

@Daeus I like it! As Kate says… you were born to sell things. Writing about my book is one of my least favorite things. Can’t just writing the thing be enough? As for bittersweet, I looked it up int a thesaurus and it gave me poignant, nostalgic, affecting, touching, and sentimental. Not sure if any of those fit, but…

@Aratrea Oh, another question I’ve been wondering about. The disillusionment arc. No one seems to cover it fully. Even in the Character Arc book, it wasn’t as fully explained as some of the others. It would be very helpful to hear a point by point progression of a disillusionment arc with the same sort of EiL diagrams you’ve been using for the…[Read more]

@Aratrea Can a negative arc turn into a positive arc? If a character has a negative arc through the whole of the book and then, after losing everything and completely falling, could he have a brief positive arc (one that might be a chapter or two long) that brings him back to the truth and partial victory?

Saturday, February 25th would work best for me, though I should be able to be there on the other dates if they get picked. And I should be to lesson 8 by that time. 🙂

@Kate-Flournoy Cellphones, is it? Not something exciting like a sword? *scowls* Ah well.
You get a voicemail on your phone. Someone is pleading for help and you can hear your own voice yelling in the background. When you check the time stamp, you see it is dated five years in the future.

@Daeus and @Kate-flournoy you are in danger of becoming unoffensive due to a lack of opposition. Cliches are so much fun. 😀 I like twisting their endings, not actually using a complete cliched scene or idea, but starting with cliches and then making it turn into something else is a very useful technique.

@aratrea Ah, right. Sorry.
His experiment in living is that man’s value consists in his name, and his name consists of his actions. Everything he does, he does with his name into mind. In his mind, if he fails, then he loses his name, and if he loses his name, he loses his worth.
The focusing question is: Of what does a man’s worth consist? T…[Read more]

This is a positive arc for a character in a fantasy novel of mine.
Characteristic moment: Shows protagonist discriminated against because he doesn’t have a family name. He is struggling to gain a name through his own actions.
Mash 1: Being told he has a name. He feels he didn’t earn it and doesn’t deserve it. He hasn’t proved his worth and m…[Read more]

@Kayla-Joy Hello. Pleased to meet you. *sweeps bow*
And trilogies… those little things. *chokes on insane laugh* I’m currently working on a futuristic/dystopian trilogy. 😉 I’d love to help, if I could. Google docs or email would probably work the best… I don’t get on here as much as I used to, to check things, for time reasons. 😉
