@bella-d Hey welcome! Glad to see new faces on the forum! How did you hear about Kingdom Pen?

@Cloudy At this very moment I’m a little busy, but sometime in the next week or so I’d be happy to look over your story. How in-depth would you want me to go? I do freelance editing so I can do anything from a theme-characters-plot sort of perspective or go more into the finer details of wording and prose and grammar. It all depends on how…[Read more]

@Radically-surrendered basically if it’s a book about musical instruments being epic I’ll read it. XD

@inklingforchrist Good question. I honestly don’t know. Every time I start a novel, it’s a big fear of mine that it’s not going to be very long at all. But even if your novels are short, it’s okay. My only suggestion for making books longer is adding in more conflict between characters and…[Read more]

@winter-rose Yep. I’m still lovin’ that GIF. XD
@ethryndal Perfect GIF. 😛 I’m surprised though, you didn’t use Galadriel. 😛 😉
@jenwriter17 The chair melting thing is basically what I do when I’m not happy with something. It’s my forum ‘signature’. 😉
@emma-flournoy Thankee.

@itisastarrynight For me, simple observing has been the best. I’ve actually been observing for a year and half now. O.O Woah… that long, self? Weird.

@That_writer_girl_99 I finally just saw this, and realized that you tagged me right from the get-go. For some reason, I didn’t get the notification. *kicks technology*
But This. Is. COOL! If I can ever get any of the tid-bits I’ve learned organized properly, I will definitely return.

@Skredder First off, hi! I don’t think we’ve met.
And second, YES, the Persian technique is really cool. I actually forgot about that. (Though I do disagree about only being able to hold a drawn bow for eight seconds. I know a girl who shoots with a standard recurve, and she says she’s able to hold it fully drawn for at least a minute.)

@Graciegirl Well of COURSE we all missed you. You did come up with our favorite expression, after all. 😉
And YES to everything you said about The Last Jedi. The Praetorian Guards (yep, that’s what they’re called) and the Force Connection thing… Those two moments were my favorites as well. So much interesting development with Kylo, oh my…[Read more]

@dragon-Snapper WOOT!!! That’s fantastic! *rains glitter from the ceiling**random chair falls**phones get dumped by the bucket-load* Good grief, three books already? Sheesh, kid, you’re making the rest of us look bad. (Namely, me… 😀 )

@That_writer_girl_99 Ah. Ah ha ha. Hmm. Keep in mind that while I do own a long-sword, a short-sword, and a compound bow, I wouldn’t exactly consider myself a master at using any of them. (Particularly the bow, because when one lives in an urban area, there’s no SPACE.) But while I do lack actual EXPERIENCE, I have researched the subject of…[Read more]

Christine Eaton replied to the topic The Wingfeather Saga Short Film in the forum Film 8 years, 3 months ago
@inkling-for-christ The reason why I think the film does do the book justice is becasuse of just how well made and crafted it was in only 15 minutes. This was their way of making something that can be made into a full-length tv series and expanded throughout the books and its lands. It was a sample of what can be done further. And within this…[Read more]

I’ve actually read that article, ha. @daeus
Ummm… *sighs* Okay. The swordsmen in my WIP use them to fight monsters, so…um, I know nothing and if you could maybe just start with explaining the different kinds of swords?

Alright, peoples, listen up. I have questions.
One of the reasons I’ve enjoyed writing in the sci-fi genre is that you don’t have to know much about fighting styles or weapons. It’s sci-fi, and no one expects you to be realistic the entire time, so you can just…make stuff up. Which I do. A lot.
But, in the days since my old sci-fi WIP k…[Read more]
