Fear not, fear not. I didn’t take out Rain (she’s my favourite, I love her, I wouldn’t do that to her). What @rochellaine was referring to was simply that I took out the romance between Rain and Kendall.

(was Anastasia as amazing as it sounds?)
Jonas was at the top of my google docs as most recently edited so I decided to read it again (and rip my heart out again) when I came to your comment that I never answered. Though I must say, even though I like Zac, Jonas is still slightly better.
@seekjustice, YOU TOOK OUT RAIN?!?!?! She…[Read more]

You say “modern ballet is weird” as if old ballet isn’t.

I’m not really sure as to what sort of star crossed lovers story they’d come up with, but it would probably be like “poor girl + rich man + friends and family try to warn them of impending doom + doom falls + everyone is dead = Moral: falling in love with poor people is bad.“

@valtmy 😛 Don’t worry. I don’t know much about East Asian history and culture. 😉 So I doubt I’d be doing much over analyzing.
Modern ballet is weird. 😛
I love Tchaikovsky, but my favorite of his pieces is actually the 1812 overture. Do you like that one?

Well, theatre seems to be a very popular form of underground entertainment, due to the fact that it requires little in the way of money or supplies in order to put on a basic show. I’ve read about a lot of war prisoners doing theatre in order to keep themselves busy with something. I was only reading the other day about the…[Read more]

@valtmy Hello! Are you interested in ballet?

@seekjustice Because of my tendency to try and find basis and origin for things lately I’ve been wondering if Beauty and the Beast was inspired by Nebuchadnezzar. What do you think? 😉
I’ve been over analyzing this question and came up with a few things.
One, I seem to remember that Jean was the only one who really kept the old books, and…[Read more]

No worries 😀
Yes, that’s true. So they might not be performing the actual Romeo and Juliet. But since those “Star-crossed lovers” stories are so common, there’s likely to be one or two Romeo and Juliet-esque stories, I suppose.

yes, I see. It’s really interesting! in the movie version of Anastasia, the ballet they see is Cinderella, I believe, and it’s not really a big deal, but I like the fact that they put such interesting symbolism in the stage version 😀
I have been in a number of ballets. Never dancing ballet, since I don’t do that, but dancing…[Read more]

@seekjustice I hated Chessy and Justice in the first book, because he was not a Christian. But that was fixed in the second book – and they had window scenes – so I liked them. 😉
Thanks again for the window scenes. 😛

@seekjustice Well, in the stage play, Odette comes on to dance first, then Anastasia sings while she’s dancing. Next Siegfried comes on, and Dimitri sings his part while he’s dancing. Then the corps de ballet come on and the grandmother sings, and then the magician comes on, and Gleb sings while he’s dancing. So that’s simple. But that got me…[Read more]

Chessy and Justice seem to be a polarising one. Either people love or hate it.
Everyone does like Sapphire and Quillon though.
And no, Chessy was never supposed to be particularly romantic. The romance between Justice and her wasn’t even supposed to be in the story!

I still maintain I’m not great at romances.
You keep saying that, and I keep telling you that there are several couples in your Infinity series that people liked. 😛
- Chessy and Justice (Your sister, Jen, me, possibly others that I don’t recall)
- Sapphire and Quillon (Everyone… 😛 )
- Chessy and Jonas (Everyone)
- Chessy and Z…

Well, I’d noticed the Swan Lake music in “Quartet at the Ballet” (I’ve been a dancer for too many years not to 😛 ), but I hadn’t really noticed it as an overall thing, having never seen the play itself. And yep, I do know the plot (several different versions of it, in fact).
Oh yes, I remember that story. I’ll have to dig through…[Read more]

@seekjustice I noticed something about Anastasia in the live production that I hadn’t noticed before, which was the symbolism/parallels between Swan Lake and Anastasia’s story, when they go to the ballet. (I was a huge ballet fan as a kid… 😉 ) I think it became one of my favorite parts of the show. Do you know the plot of Swan Lake?
Also, @ali…[Read more]

Unfortunately, yes 😛
I feel I have improved slightly since then, but I still maintain I’m not great at romances. Though Quillon and Sapphire were met with much acclaim, so maybe I’m not as terrible as I think I am.

I’ve definitely been noticing that, especially as friends go off to university and lose circle of church goers they might have had before.
I’m sure I would have plenty of fun writing about it. And I did think of writing a romance parody the other day. Some day, when I’m not doing anything deep and serious 😛
I don’t think she would.…[Read more]

Well, all my friends are really close to their cousins and it looks like so much fun!
That is pretty sad 🙁 And I definitely know what you mean about those people who have had so much success in life that they don’t think they need God because they seem to be doing just fine without Him.
Well, I’ve been thinking about doing something a…[Read more]
