All right, so I know I’m supposed to be sprinting, but I just looked at my overall word count for my entire book and realized I HAVE WRITTEN A NOVEL!!! I HAVE OVER SIXTY THOUSAND WORDS AND I’M INTERNALLY SCREAMING right now! But I’m scared it’s going to end up being too long because there’s still a ridiculous amount of story I need to tell 🙁

Thanks! I mean, it wasn’t perfectly accurate and not entirely how I picture them in my head, but Artbreeder is pretty tough to use, and that was one of my very first tries XD Maybe I’ll try them again sometime, I don’t know. Either way, thank you:)
(Also, I love your tagline!!:)

Thank you, Grace, for this very helpful reply!!! 🙂 I knew that I wanted to interweave Christian elements into this story for that purpose, and maybe I can touch people’s hearts, even if it may only be a small way:) I try to write in deep, thoughtful life lessons for every one of my characters, so I thought it would be really special to…[Read more]

Aww, thank you girl!!! That makes me so happy to know you like the idea:) And *gasps* that’s an incredible idea to have it in another language!! Would you mind if I did something similar?? If not that’s okay!! That’s another great idea to have it be like a ‘New World’ or something along those lines… I hadn’t thought of that! :D…[Read more]

Thanks, Elizabeth!! I wasn’t entirely sure if I wanted to try it/if I could properly pull it off, but I think I’ll try. I knew I wanted to include Christian elements, so I thought this would be an interesting concept and sideplot:) *Phew!* I’m glad you think it wouldn’t be strange, because then I would’ve been more stumped XD And…[Read more]

Elizabeth replied to the topic What's your process of creating a main character for your story? in the forum Topic of the Week 5 years ago
@kathleenramm Hmm, well I haven’t created a main character in quite a long while, so I’m honestly a bit unsure what my process is at this point. Side characters, however, usually start with a concept or image that usually comes to me in the midst of writing. For example, I’ve created:
- An overly apologetic butler to a supervillain
- An o…

Am I having this exact same debate with myself about my own dear WIP? Yes. Yes I am*ahem* I think that’s a really cool idea! And I agree with everyone else that’s already commented–I think it’s perfectly okay to include the Bible in a fantasy world!! Like @issawriter7 said, you can always avoid mentioning specific names if…[Read more]

Thank you, Issa!! I was hoping that was a good decision to include, because I wanted to portray Christianity through this book and thought it would be an interesting idea:) And I think that’s an incredible idea–not using names but only referencing stories, or even some parables/lessons that Jesus taught without going into detail.…[Read more]

Thank you, Jen, for your helpful reply!!! That’s an interesting thought to consider, and would work well with combining the two of them:) Thank you! And I like the idea of an allegory, using characters to represent Jesus. Great idea!:)

Thank you for your reply, Lin!!:) And that’s a great help: I wanted to include the Bible because that would work well with my character’s arc of becoming a Christian, though I wasn’t sure if that would be odd. So thank you for clarifying, and yes, I’ll keep that in mind!! I wanted to give the idea that heaven and hell still…[Read more]

(I’m sincerely sorry if y’all got this duplicated…)
I’m not entirely certain how to word this, but here’s my question: how should I portray a character reading the Bible even though my story is in a fantasy world? I want to include strong Christian elements in my novel, though I can’t help but feel a little nervous since it’s fantasy and take…[Read more]
