Ooh. I totally love this idea! @inkling-for-christ
Would being a dreamer put him in danger, or do people just look down on him for not being “smart” like the rest of them, or interested in the same things? I guess I’m saying, to what level is he not accepted? Are dreamers put in prison? Is it illegal? Does his family reject him? Does he write…[Read more]

@rochellaine SAME! I love meeting new people, but they have to come up to me first. (or I have to work up the courage to approach them, which usually doesn’t happen.)
And welcome, @jenwriter17, even though I’m newer here than yourself! 🙂 And I’m already getting to know you a bit.

@mariposa I just realized your name means butterfly in Spanish! That’s so cool. Idek why it took me so long to figure it out. 😉 Well, I think your hair looks super great short. It suits you perfectly. 🙂 I haven’t had much time to make jewelry lately either. *whispers* Writing has consumed my life.
Yes, your blog looks great. And tell Aberdeen…[Read more]

LivGiordano replied to the topic Which Idea Should I Tackle Next? in the forum Novel Idea Critiques 6 years, 10 months ago
@jenwriter17 It sounds interesting! It does sound a bit cliche though, with the whole “submit or be in danger” thing. And idk if this thought struck you, but do you remember the mark of the beast in Revelation? It seems quite similar to the idea of people having a chip/card in them that pledges their alliegance to the government.
But I feel like…[Read more]

LivGiordano replied to the topic How do we define "worth" when there is no actual God figure in the story? in the forum Mission, Calling & Ethics 6 years, 10 months ago
Hmm…it is a fantasy story, for one. I’m not sure how that could be incorporated, but I’m definitely open to the possibility of God actually being there.
This is all really good to think through though. Would it help to read the story? Idk. Only if you want to.

Oh wow, thank you so much! This is actually really encouraging.
If you never mention God, you could take this whole redemption idea and put it into the life of some people. Maybe Person A struggles with a lot of self-worth issues, but then Person B does this amazing, almost irrational self-sacrifice for them, which gets Person A to thinking about…

This is really tough, and a big question for me. But how do I write a story with theme of worth, when God is not a big aspect of the story?
This is especially difficult, because I know that all true worth and value is found in HIM. So how do I write this story, about someone finding out what defines true worth, when God’s name is never mentioned?…[Read more]

@waterlily Cool! I’m definitely going to have to check them out now.
@SeekJustice for the most part, the things that were kind of mature in the book weren’t really in the TV series, so that was nice. If you’re wanting to watch it. 🙂
@jenwriter17 Ohh yay, another Chuck Black fan! YES, I love Wars of the Realm! They’re all so awesome, and really…[Read more]

@seekjustice Thank you! Yeah, I actually thought it was pretty cool. *nods* Yeah, the book was a little heavy for me too, but not overly so. If it was just a tad more, I probably would’ve quit. 😉 I’m also not a fan of Christie’s rebellious character, and how she acts very familiar with both David and Neil. But at the same time, we watched these…[Read more]

Okay…*takes a deep breath* *thinks hard* There should be something I can share.
Let everything inspire you:
As a writer, I observe things. Like everything. Whether it be how the the streetlight catches the glimmer of the puddles, or what it feels like to be literally freezing, longing for a warm house to step inside of. It’s amazing how much…[Read more]

@supermonkey42 Thank you! I’m glad it sounds original, and I really hope it is. 😉
@jenwriter17 Thanks for the welcome! I can tell that I’m really going to love it here. 🙂 I love all of Chuck Black’s books, the Ilyon Chronicles, and Lord of the Rings. My favorite genre is fantasy, though I also really enjoy…[Read more]

@radically-surrendered, yes, I think he does become a Christian, or close to it in the book. And his wife actually died a long time before Christie came in childbirth. So that whole element isn’t there.
@mariposa Nice to meet both of you! I love making earrings, and I make cards…sometimes. I love to read, and play the piano. And I love doing…[Read more]

*nods* Yeah, those episodes I would count as some of the older, better ones. We’ve watched the whole series. 😉 Both Adam and Albert are pretty cool. But in the final episodes, it isn’t even about the Ingalls anymore. Sadly. It’s mostly about Laura and Almanzo.
Oh, have you gotten to when Nellie gets married? Those ones were pretty funny, with…[Read more]

Oh sheesh. That’s hard. I would have to say team David. But they’re both awesome. *whispers* I read the book, just because after that final episode, I NEEDED to know who she ended up with. That was the most horrible ending every. *sobs* Anyway…have you read the book? It’s actually pretty similar. And she didn’t end up with who I expected her to.

@emma-flournoy Thank you! I’m feeling at home here already. Y’all are great at welcoming people. Yeah, practically the only reason I said Little House on the Prairie is because I couldn’t really think of many TV shows. XD. I like Mary, I think. She’s pretty cool. Yeah, the episodes seemed to progressively get more strange though. I liked the…[Read more]

@sam-kowal in this book, I have tried using Latin words. It’s pretty fun. and when I want something a bit different, I can use that! Or other other languages as well. It just depends.
@mnvalentine I love classical music, which I also love to play on the piano. That’s definitely the biggie, though I also love contemporary Christian.

@that_writer_girl_99 thanks for the tip! I’m still figuring out how to use this site, so that should work much better now.
And yes, I’m writing a novel called Pure Starlight now! I started it November first for NaNoWriMo, but it’s still going, because it’s probably going to end up pretty long.
Here’s the synopsis:
Crystal had always longed to…[Read more]
