Welcome to the bestistest place on the internet @sage-g! *grins* What’s your favorite book? What kind of music do you like best? Do you have a favorite genre?

Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Title for my story in the forum Novel Idea Critiques 8 years, 7 months ago
@Daeus true… I didn’t notice that. I still think though that just picking it up and not knowing anything about the story, it really wouldn’t work for me. You wouldn’t notice the twist in the meaning until the very end of the book, and it’s not as integral to the overall theme as it could be. Just a brief reference to a part of the result.

@Daeus oh boy… 😛 Um. I have to say The Time Traveler’s Dilemma still takes the cake for me but if there really is another very popular book out there with a similar title, probably scratch it.
Fools in the Darkness… meh. Who wants to read about fools?
Key to the Future… I like it. It will probably grow on me. I especially like it because……[Read more] -

@clairec
*peeks in with glittering eyes*
*grins evilly*
*laughs maniacally and brings the roof down in a shower of plaster*I am the wrong person to ask about this. XD My WIP was roughly 535,870 words as a finished second draft. I’m still cutting, but it will never be the length of a ‘normal’ book. 😛
That said, 70,000 sounds about the kind of…[Read more]

@salome01w4g I feel ya. 😛 Honestly I stopped deliberately looking… if I see one that looks good I’ll grab it, but it’s rare that they’re ever perfect. XD

@salome01w4g mm. Yeah. Well, I don’t think you’re ever going to find a place that doesn’t have that risk, but I’ve found that Pinterest is generally a safer bet than just plain old google. I’d definitely recommend not extensively searching most stock photo sites (as a cover designer I learned that pretty quick *winces*) because just about anyone…[Read more]

“In my defense, you’re my favorite character, and it’s a proven fact that authors love torturing their faves. Don’t ask me why, but there it is.”
@Ethryndal I saw your post on your book, and now I feel guilty because that is exactly how I feel toward my favorite character. XD Yep. So true.
-
*high fives fellow torturer* What is it with that, anyway? It’s like… seeing blood on their faces makes us feel good about them. I dunno. I always liked it when my favorite character in a book or movie got beat up. *shrug*
WE NEVER CLAIMED TO BE NORMAL.
-
@Dragon-Snapper @Ethryndal Guys, THIS READER IS THE SAME.
” I always liked it when my favorite character in a book or movie got beat up. ”
*extreme nodding* We’re like psychopaths, but it makes us love them more. It does. *hugs specific characters in mind*
And then feel a million times happy when they get happy again.-
@Emma-Flournoy Why doesn’t this surprise me… XD
Well, be happy, because every good character I ever write is probably going to suffer mass amounts of torture. After all, there IS a reason writers are likened to villains… -
And don’t tell me Denholm is a tortured character…

Thou art SHREWD, milady. XD XD XD
I plead the Fifth. Thou shalt discover for thyself.
Since nothing I just said is telling in the least.
-
Your subtlety will never cease to amaze me. XD
-
@emma-flournoy @ethryndal Yes–when I was younger and before I started writing, my friends always told me that I had to be the badguy. And why?
Because I was so good at it.
*headdesk*
*confetti*
I can’t decide.
And who in KeePer is Denholm?
Wait. *glances around*
Is it from Kate’s book? -
@Ethryndal I know. 😂
@Dragon-Snapper BRAVO! How ever did you guess?
And I can see how you’d make a good bad guy… 😀

@GracieGirl gorgeous! I love them!
@Dragon-Snapper my apologies, fellow Chosen One. *elvish bow* I do not know the specific answer to that question, but I don’t see why not. So long as you’re not using them to make money or in any project that will make money (like a book cover) you should be good.And… lessee. I’ve done a few more collages…[Read more]
