AHHH YOU HOPPED ON THE TREND TOOOOO
THIS TREND SLAAAAAAYYYYS ✨
but most of the time they can simply pull moisture from the air and rehydrate.
Mooooost of the time. Except when they’re in the desert. 😁 Or if they get freeze-dried and packaged. (That got dark…)

They don’t have blood, but if cut the wound will spill light that in turn heals it.
That’s some cool concept imagery. 😎
So there are “laws unbreakable” like the cost of reason and the concept of ransom blood which are deep in the fabric of the world.
How does the concept of ransom blood work? What are some of the other unbre…[Read more]

Literally everyone loves your concept, so you’ve got originality conquered and in the bag, girl. XD
I love it so much but it loves to frustrate me and taunt me with its vagueness. Maybe you guys could help me make it make sense?

Thanks for the debriefing! I’ve read up on these concepts before, but it’s been so long since I focused on them, that I felt you were better able to summarize these things.
Of these, I think effects is actually the least important. Access and costs can both be very important, but cost probably a bit more so.
Definitely agree with this. Any…[Read more]

HIRING: SKILLED KIDNAPPER
Someone PLEASE kidnap me for tomorrow evening! We’re having meatball stroganoff, and I’d rather eat locusts and honey like John the Baptist! *incoherent screaming* I’ll pay in candy! -

Also….
Why would Onnendel be sending orcs to hunt his own band? And then give himself away by a notable device on his minions’ uniforms?

What? XD Oh no. I’ll tweak that. Sorry for the unclarified pronoun.
Onnendel is not the traitor. It would be a great twist, but he’s too much of Aenwest’s cinnamon roll to have a negative arc..
Plus… Backstory. Lots of backstory….
They’ll talk more about that in the next two chapters.

That type of randomness must be preserved.
I agree. You can definitely keep that vibe and just make up the rules for yourself so you stay consistent. You wouldn’t have to tell anyone the rules of the system.
It seems like your magic comes from fantastical animals. I don’t know if that’s true, but I do think that would be a great source of…[Read more]

At parties, I hang out with the younger kids and have a lot of fun with them, but after church most of the younger kids are racing around on rolling chairs, even though we’ve been specifically told not to.😅

our family of 6 is the smallest family in the church. the average is about nine kids
Wow. My family has 6 kids, and there is one church where we go when we’re on vacation in which we’re average, but usually we’re the weird ones.
honestly think that it’s not good to have that big of a congregation. We’re called to fellowship with…

In Which Orcs Stink, and Dwogin Plays Hockey
Chapter 6
“Cowards and kettledrums!” Dwogin bellowed. His axe sprang into his hand and the stout warrior went charging into the first line of the ambushment. Orcs flew like flies over a hotly contested piece of garbage. I gagged.
In the chaos that ensued, I caught a glimpse of Onnendel and Tra…[Read more]

I guess I have a magic system, but it’s more a power system. In my KoS/Shattered Kingdoms series, there are unseen powers behind almost everything. Influences from the races of the Lighted and the Faded on the race of Blood. (Made the names up on the spot. XD) It’s pretty obviously allegorical, but I’m having fun developing it as if it’s not so I…[Read more]
