I’m going to be in Chicago from Wednesday till Sunday, and we aren’t bringing the laptops, so I’m going to disappear for a few days. I’ll catch up when I return.

…And here I am, praising the game and not talking about Alan Becker. XD I still haven’t watched. Next chance I get, probably this week.

I think some YouTubers make Minecraft way too loud and showy. My brothers watch competitive YouTubers and I’ve never caught on to that. The game by itself is much more impactful.

Minecraft is the kind of thing I never thought I’d enjoy. But one day it clicked. I think the combination of the music and graphics have the same uncanny feel as old memories. Pieces of the world make sense, but much of it is random and silent. It’s such a strange, melancholic feeling.

Writers can insert two sides of themselves into that conversation and it still tracks. XD

I appreciate the thoughts! I hadn’t thought much about items before – although specific things come to mind. My goal is to make this character less of a person to mourn for, and more of a person to enjoy reading about. *Bows and offers you a jar of glitter to poof yourself back home if needed*

Off the top of my head:
I think a big thing is to make them relatable, even if they’re gone. When people die, others will usually either forget their quirks or only remember the crazy…[Read more]

Hey guys, I’ve been thinking. How do you encourage a reader to like a character who is already dead? And with minimal flashbacks? And and without being boringly sad? I have a few ideas, but this has been a challenge so far and I was wondering what everyone else thinks.

Alright, here is my feedback!
~ Which character(s) did you find the most compelling/relatable/believable and why?
You know Tyn and Cyrus were my favorites from the previous book. In this book, I enjoyed James and Eric (post-memory wipe), both for their enthusiasm. Iskyagus was fun as well for the brief moment he was there.

I’m pretty sure the authorities have me flagged. I had to do a “sell an element” project a couple years ago, and I chose polonium, which meant researching how to buy it, and also given the fact I chose to sell it specifically for murdering people, I researched how much it would take to kill someone too. XD If you want to learn how to…[Read more]

Which character(s) did you find the most compelling/relatable/believable and why?
I related most to Martha and her struggles being the eldest. James is my favorite though.
Were there any character(s) you struggled to connect with?
Other than Sara’s conversations with James, I didn’t feel like she was fully developed.
Did Alan…
