Hmm…I think I like foil characters best when they are going after the same goal the protagonist is, though with a different EiL. It is especially interesting if the protagonist is pursing the correct EiL for her goal and trying to help the foil character do the same.

@anyone I’m editing/re-outlining a few chapters of my novel (not quite sure how this works because I’ve never jumped in here before 😉 )

@aratrea hmm… I think it has to do with me foreshadowing how everything is about to fall apart, introduce a character that will be important later on, and just pass a little time until everyone starts to “travel” to where the protagonist finds the “stranger.” It makes a little more sense in the novel, but I’ll keep an eye on that scene *glares at it* 😉

@aratrea the main theme is forgiveness, but the supporting theme is truth. Basically, the protagonist is on a search for the truth about things in her life, and makes a mess of things. I’m assuming that more than one method can be used for the “disaster” of each scene? I guess that most scenes seem to naturally use poetic justice along with the other methods. Just a thought.
