@kaya-young I’ve used words from other languages a couple of times as names. I think @skredder actually got her(?) username by searching for the meaning of her name in another language. I like the ones you chose. I really dislike the Spanish name Dolores which means something like “Tears of the Virgin Mary” but your twist to the original in La…[Read more]

@kaya-young Oh! Wip is work in progress. 🙂 I guess a better question would have been what genre is your current writing project. Oh well.
I wouldn’t worry about skill much. Its more about having fun and interacting with everyone then about creating masterpieces 😀 -

@notawriter Thank you (though I haven’t posted anything yet. I will soon though!!!) You can stick around even if you don’t draw manga style if you want. I’d love to see some of your art if you want to post it.

@alia I drew Precium! 😀 I always have a hard time with kids but I hope you like it anyway 🙂
@jessi-rae I FINALLY drew Darcy! I thought it fitting to give her a more somber expression. -

Hey everyone! I was wondering y’all’s opinion on something. Which one would be better: a group of soldiers coming to a house and going through everything right before everyone is supposed to go to sleep or right after everyone is just waking up and sitting down to eat breakfast?

I study Latin, and I love how some Latin words are just begging to be a name. So here are a few with their meanings:
Doloris~ greif, pain
Gratia~ grace, favor, thanks
Ira~ anger
Maris~ sea
Valeo~ to be well
If you need more let me know!

Welcome! I started writing from Warriors fanfiction too, but I haven’t read them in ages, I didn’t like the wauly they went after the second series. (However, I can safely say that Leafpool and Hollyleaf were my two least favourite characters in the whole thing).
I like the idea of your novel! I wrote a similar story about otters…[Read more]

@notawriter Oh, if you want to have specific guidelines, most girls names will end in vowels, and most boys in consonants. (This is not a strict rule, but like the “i before e” rule – lots of exceptions.) 🙂

@notawriter Well, I have a little side hobby of studying language. Not, you know, parts of speech or anything, but sounds, and – um – I don’t really know how to describe it. Like, for example, you can make a name sound like it came from the Saxon era in England if you use “ae,” “th,” “dl,” or a couple of other common combinations of letters in n…[Read more]

@itisastarrynight I like watercolors too! I also enjoy multi media painting- like painting on rocks, painting/redoing furniture, and I love how watercolors look on old book pages. I don’t think I’ve ever painted with oils ether. When it comes to subject matter, when I’m painting on paper I like to do animals, flowers, and I would love to nail a…[Read more]

@rochellaine Oh, that’s great. 😀
🙂 Yep, I didn’t expect you to want to try to keep things like my descriptions, especially because I don’t really have any experience writing Joshua’s voice, I just wanted to throw those in as examples.
Also, running quickly through scenes that don’t have much significance to the main story is a great way to…[Read more]

@mnvalentine Yes! please do, they are really good! I would especially recommend his Kingfountain books.
@rochellaine History is my favorite subject! I enjoy several different time periods/places; in particular the Irish potato famine, Egypt, the 1800s, and the trail of tears. What about you?
@aratrea Yes, it’s amazing how Austin was able to…[Read more]
