@dragon snapper 😀 YASS! Except I’m from Australia…. But this is something I do all the time in other situations too. “Did you see that number (Aussie version of license) plate? Maybe it’s ____!” My family = *massive eye roll* 😛

I’ve been desiring more and more to figure out how to write short stories, but it seems so…complicated.
So on someone’s blog, they are doing a short story contest. Here’s the link, if anyone’s interested:Â https://jesusisworthitall.weebly.com/for-writers/beauty-for-ashes-story-contest

Well you all are geniuses.
I mean really. I’ve been struggling with this stuck-ed-ness for months.
I took a five day break.
SO WHY DIDN’T A TAKE A BREAK SOONER!
I went back to writing today after missing it…for once XD… and wrote 1397 words that I actually like in one sitting.
So yeah. I LOVE WRITING AGAIN AND THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!…[Read more]

Hi @rochellaine! I also write primarily contemporary realistic fiction. I find it easier to relate with modern readers and their problems that way. I’m too practical for fantasy!
Hey @jenwriter17! I love historical fiction, some non-fiction, and the occasional fantasy. My top three favorite authors are J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and G.A. Henty.…[Read more]

@daughteroftheking Yes, I know what you mean! It has that Shakespearean sonnet feel to it 🙂
@jenwriter17Â Which Tales have you read (or partially read), do you know?
@sleepwalkingmk @aratrea Thanks! I will keep that in mind when I pick Chaucer back up again 🙂

Would anybody be willing to read and critique my latest short story?
It’s about a missionary kid who is struggling with letting go of people and embracing new friendships.
I’m hoping especially for comments about character, theme, plot, etc… as I tend to struggle with the big picture of fiction rather than the small details.

Hey guys!
So, I’m just going to say it…. writing’s been hard lately. I just started another novel–10,000 words through– but as I write, I really have to force myself to keep going. I try to write well, of course, but I feel almost disconnected from my book. I can write as fast as I used to if I force myself to, if I really really try, but I…[Read more]

I love JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure because of its fast pace, crazy awesomeness and very unique tone! Yes, you should check out the others if you have the time. I specifically mentioned those few because of their stellar storytelling in the sea of subpar anime. 🙂
Great to know there are other writers who have similar…[Read more]

I prefer instrumentals since a lot of lyrics do not really appeal to me. I listen mostly to soundtracks and scores from shows and musicals since I feel that they offer more variety than mainstream genres. I also listen to classical sometimes, especially Tchaikovsky. A relic from my childhood piano and music lessons.
As for my current…[Read more]
