How is it possible to make a bad guy as likeable as Loki?
Or Kylo Ren from Star Wars X)

@slylilhuntress HAH! If you don’t like cheesy graphics, then beware the classic series. The only thing worse than the graphics is the music. Particularly in the early 1980s *shudders*
Other than that, I’d highly recommend them! If I were you, I’d start with Tom Baker. He played the Doctor from the mid-1970s to the early ’80s. While not my…[Read more]

Rochellaine — So your brother likes that episode. 0.o Well… I’m… sorry, Rochellaine’s-Brother, that I don’t feel the same, exactly.

@slylilhuntress *jumps at the mention of Dr Who*
Oooh! Yeah, it’s a lot. But I’m glad you’re starting at the beginning! Otherwise you’d be totally lost
Have you ever considered looking into the classic series, too? They’re my favorites 🙂

@slylilhuntress Me, too! The only think I ever draw is manga profiles. I really enjoy it, too X)
Book recommendations. *groans* *pulls out long list*
- Les Miserables by Victor Hugo (historical fiction)
- Josiah’s Fire by Tahni Cullen (non-fiction Christian)
- Princess Academy by Shannon Hale (fantasy, favorite book after Wingfeather Saga)

One can forget a story, alter a story, or even throw away a story, but one can never completely abandon a story

@kaya-young Those are good points! I know I struggle with taking God’s gifts for granted, too
@jenwriter17Â I read Ruth 1, as well
I looked up the names for Naomi and Mara. Mara means “bitterness and sorrow,” and Naomi means “pleasantness.” It’s interesting to know
I think one of the reasons God brought food back to Judah was to show Naomi H…[Read more]

@Sam-Kowal ha! Well, remind me, and I will. ;P
And YES. Depth is everything. If you can boil your entire world down to a single deep, resonant core story/concept, so much the better for you. Hard to stress enough how important that is. Focus on what you have and make it so magical you don’t have to go look for other things to distract you.

Another question.
I was wondering what your thoughts were on talking and sharing about your novel before it’s published? If you’re planning to get published within the next few years, should your novel facts and characters and everything else go incognito?
For example, if I were to talk about my novel on my blog, would that be…[Read more]

@Joy excellent question. Someday I want to write a book on worldbuilding, but I’ll try to refrain from dumping the entire tome off on you right here. XD
The first thing, I think, is to realize that worldbuilding is not so much a list of facts about where your story takes place as it is a key— like the key on a map— to discovering why your…[Read more]
