Hey, welcome. Hopefully Though the forum I can share a bit of summer with all you poor freezing people.
You sound like a really artsy person; writing, music and drawing. I’ve dome the teeniest bits of drawing and music in the past. -

The ground shook slightly with footsteps. Tit squeaked and yanked Mango’s tail hard with her teeth.
“Look out! Can’t you hear them coming?”
He gave her a long look, then slowly crawled into the tiny, dark hole after her.
“I thought,” he said slowly, “that we were going the other direction.”
“Yes, but we can’t be seen. It would be dire, would ruin…[Read more] -

@hannah-krynicki I was actually in the middle of writing, despite not know what was going on. Now I’ll have to figure out how the new idea works in the rest of the story.

When you come up with a solution to a big problem in your story without trying.

Anna Brie replied to the topic The "diversity" trend in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 9 months ago
One thing I’ve heard is that you should treat some kinds of people as normal and others as different. Most of us have a tendency to default to what we used to and describe foreign characters differently. Either they are the only ones described in detail or their race can be used as the description.

I don’t have racial minorities, but I’m not giving every one the same shade of skin.
I think it’s really all about who fits in your story. If you are writing a story about a group of men, women will obviously be under represented. If your story is set in China, most likely everyone will be Chinese. If you’re writing in futuristic America, why…[Read more]

Thanks for your thoughts.
What I probably really meant was if you weren’t certain they wouldn’t turn back to evil. I think I have a solution for my specific situation now.I did have another thought at church today though. We are to forgive our enemies, but just because you have forgiven someone doesn’t mean they won’t receive justice. I…[Read more]

Nice. I had a thought about this bit:
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
“Nothing,” replied Dad.
I still don’t understand why people say that when there really is something wrong. It’s one of life’s great mysteries. As far as I know saying nothing is wrong, or more commonly that you’re fine when it’s not true is something women do more that men. But n…[Read more]

I like it.
The only problem I had was that for a moment I thought some of the dialogue belonged inside the second story. I’ve since realized there isn’t any in that part, but it was slightly confusing. When Tess is telling the story, I think it ought to go inside quotation marks since she is speaking. -

In a scene just before the climax, a certain character said “Let’s go”. He has been mentioned once since then. (or twice if you count my note, “What happenend to Wil?”)

Your article, @hope , got me thinking about the struggle between people loving there enemies and true justice.
The authorities in my story are partly representative of God, and I’m trying to find the right balance between righteous judgement and Christian love.
Should you offer mercy to those you know will just turn back to doing evil?I suppose…[Read more]
