It looks good. I’m still sad though.
Question- how come all the other believers haven’t been discovered, but as soon as Adrian became a believer basically, he was found out and killed?

Not really crying—but not because I’m not sad. I just don’t really cry that much, even for some of the saddest books I’ve read. I kind of want to though.
You were so bubbly in the previous post, and now you are so sad. Part of me feels really bad, and the other part of me is wickedly gleeful.
I was half convinced you were going t…[Read more]

I don’t even know what to say… If you couldn’t tell I posted that before I read the new section.
I don’t even know if I want to see an Adrian aesthetic board anymore 😭😭😭

LOL.
Oh 😂 Sorry about that. I wasn’t thinking about the POV shift at all. I guess with Adrian in so many of Joseph’s scenes, I forgot that it’s just Joseph’s POV. @Linus is probably right, you should keep it consistent.
I think you meant to tag @keilah-h up there, because those were her words.
You two have some issues with tr…

@liberty (moving the convo over here so we don’t spam the short story topic 🤪)
Well, I’m slowly getting back into a rhythm too. I’m starting to write consistently as well. I’m hoping to start working on a WIP. I’ve also started freelancing and am writing for an Amish magazine, which is very exciting! So far, I’ve had one story win 3rd place in th…

Hey!! I appreciate you reaching out. You’re so sweet! 🤗
Things are going pretty well right now! Volleyball made our schedule crazy over the past six months, so it’s nice now that it’s over and things have slowed down some. I’ve started working on some study rhythms for school to keep my grades up since I fell behind in some lessons…[Read more]

even if we’re glad the character didn’t die, it often feels a little artificial.
While I agree with you that maybe killing off Adrian is the best course of action, especially considering this is supposed to be a realistic missionary story, I’ve also seen a story where it’s the opposite: They killed off a character because it…[Read more]

Thanks, it’s not that I feel ashamed, it’s that I feel like I am being self absorbed and selfish just asking for prayer for myself.
No, that’s not wrong. Especially in your situation. How many siblings do you have? Are you the youngest, oldest, or in the middle?
I’ll be praying for you. Is there a name I can refer to you…[Read more]

I actually didn’t do the last contest, but I’ve been keeping up with this topic anyway. 😛 You picked a really interesting prompt… so I might just participate this time! We’ll see….

Aw man, that sounds really difficult. I understand annoying siblings, but I can’t imagine how hard it is for you right now. 🫂 I will definitely be praying! <33
And don’t feel bad about asking for prayer! That’s what Christian community is for 🤗

That new section looks good. The end feels like a perfect transition to a scene with Adrian… is that what happens next?

That is insane, girl. I have not even finished one. I think the furthest I’ve gotten is maybe nearly 30k.
Ah, that makes sense. But still. Congratulations on that 🎉
I was reading the forum where you posted the first book while I ate, so kind of stalking y’all 😅

I get what you’re saying. But unrealistic things can happen in stories. Maybe God’s not done with Adrian yet. I don’t know what his death would accomplish that Aaron’s didn’t —besides *maybe* changing Julian’s heart. But that could be just as easily done by Adrian’s capture.
It feels redundant to me. Aaron and Adrian are so s…[Read more]

I love stories where good characters die. It’s so refreshing after all this impossible happily ever after on earth for everyone we might have liked plus some.
😳😳😳😳
You love stories where good characters DIE???
Ok, I see what you’re getting at. Every story doesn’t need to be a happy ever after, but it shouldn’t be depress…[Read more]

Exactly!! Jk. Kind of. I think we need Adrian/Julian by themselves. Unless that’s not realistic for what they would let a prisoner do… idk.
I know! Poor Julian. And now he thinks his brother is going to die..(which he CAN’T!)
why? what’s stopping me?
I WILL! 😤 Anyway, you already killed off Aaron. Don’t do this to your readers.…[Read more]

Nope. Nothing. One reaction to that scene.
Yes, I am getting attached to Adrian! He is so sweet to Joseph! And I am not satisfied with the confrontation. They need another scene. *plops down stubbornly* I really love brother dynamics … 😅
Anyway. You CANNOT kill Adrian too. 😖
