Here’s something I drew today:

I guess all that to say, don’t worry about skill level, that’s what practice is for! I wound up drawing elves a lot — especially warrior princesses, horses, and centaurs — so I got fairly good at those, and only recently have my drawings of men not hit the uncanny valley lol. Just keep drawing, using reference often, and you’ll get the hang of it!

It’s ok! I’m still learning too, and here’s some of my limited knowledge:

For the glowy lights, I use a layer-type called color dodge, for a really colorful light, I use overlay, and multiply for shadows.

I used an airbrush for the more blended light like sunrays and such, and used a textured blender where I wanted texture, and a blur…[Read more]
