Some more intriguing questions for anyone willing to discuss!
What happens to those who don’t have the opportunity to learn about the Savior in this life?
Where is the line we must walk between scholarly rigor and child like faith?
Do we discern truth based off of what feels right, or what has more logical substance? (More and more C…[Read more]

Mormon is the nick name for the Church, so there isn’t really any difference😂 That being said, we prefer to use the true name of the Church, because it expresses that we worship Christ, and that He is the core of the Gospel, many think we worship Mormon, when we don’t. Mormon is regarded as a great profit of God, but this isn’t…[Read more]

Ok, I’m finally gonna get through the rest of your chapters:
I enjoyed chapter 3. It functions as a proper first chapter (Lilitu is the real main character, right?), all the previous ones seemed more like a series of prologues. This is fine, The Way of Kings, the first book of the Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson did…[Read more]

I suppose that’s a working explanation. Where Christ is the solid, the Holy Spirit is the liquid, and Heavenly Father is gas, expressing the hierarchy of God’s physical manifestation. Both solid and liquid are confined to this earth, whereas gas can permeate through all of space. I like that explanation more than the egg one.
Once…[Read more]

Yeah, I see what your getting at. It’s a reasonable enough explanation. Where your saying Christ and the Holy Spirit swapped places, and the Holy Spirit is the aspect of God that is enveloping the Earth.
So the Holy Ghost is specifically the spirit of Jesus Christ, while still being the same spirit as the Father in a grander sense,…[Read more]

Ok, that makes sense. That would be quite a bit different then, and there would be a lot of intriguing pathways to explore with that, so I’m on board!

I am aware of Legion, but I haven’t read it. I would say that the main thing that differentiates Krenna is that unlike either of those characters, these other personalities are somewhat real, and not figments of imagination resulting from a mental illness.
That’s a fair distinction. In regard to Legion specifically though, while it is the r…[Read more]

I do kind of want to keep fire, water, earth, and air.
Sounds good, just thought I’d point it out.
Celestiar mostly follows the rules of our universe, so in most cases, I don’t think I’m going to explain real natural phenomenon with magical rules I invented, so I don’t think that would be the case.
So if that’s the case, are the diffe…[Read more]

Yeah, I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and we believe that Heavenly Father, the Holy Ghost, and Jesus Christ are three distinct beings, though they are indeed one in purpose. (Please don’t burn me at the stake😅)
Yeah, absolutely, that’s the mentality that I strive for in…[Read more]

I really like this! The main thing I haven’t heard about yet is the characters. Is it going to play out in a similar way to Stormlight, where the characters at random points come across their abilities? I really like Krenna as well, but she seems highly resonant to both Shallan and Steven Leeds (I don’t know if you’re aware of the latter,…[Read more]

@anyone
I would like to revive this forum. Something that I have wondered about for a while now has to do with the necessity of the holly ghost in the trinity. I myself am non-trinitarian, but I was curious on what any of y’alls thoughts were on it if you have any.

Sorry, I haven’t been on for a while, allow me to quickly express my thoughts here and there form when I’ve last been here.
I would be open to extended elements, but I worry that it would be more cliche than just the four Greek elements. I at one point had a draft for a lightning element, but I couldn’t think of anything interesting to d…

Hmm, so my worldbuilding is pretty solid, and very real for me, because I literally have places based off of real things. For example, I have an underground trade city in the Nevari Desert that is directly based off of Derinkuyu, Cappadocia. I have a whole tribe that has ties to the Basotho, geographically, and culturally, and I…

Hello! Welcome to KP!
I’m the Arcane Axiom, I love math, searching for divine fundamental truth, and exploring that in my writing. I read/write sci-fi/fantasy and am currently working on a universe with my sister called the Septrum.
Questions!
Do you lean towards hard or soft worldbuilding? (Hard meaning concrete rules for the…[Read more]

TheArcaneAxiom replied to the topic Magic Systems!! in the forum General Writing Discussions 1 year, 1 month ago
Hmmm, that’s hard, because you can tell it’s a bit derivative from a lot of preexisting ideas. To change that would be to radically change the system as a whole, which is fine, just annoying, but often necessary.
One issue I immediately have is with the name and the first element. If it is called “essence burning” does that not show an…[Read more]

The language would be not their main language, but most would grow up bilingual. Most speak only English but some do speak Erstonian (the other universal language), so like I said they would learn both languages. I’m not sure where the magic words come from/what gave them power, but they are only used by the Pythonos when they c…

@savannah_grace20009
Interesting, so in that case, what would have allowed a universal language to come about? A grand unification? Maybe just a tongue similar to what is happing with English that simply became more important to know for politics and trade? Also, where do magic words come from? What makes them inherently different from other…[Read more]

Yeah, how I think of it is by their fruits you shall know them. But to know the fruits of something, you either have to judge by the spirit beforehand, or you have to put it into practice to know whether it be good or evil. The problem is that while good trees produce good fruit, and bad trees produce bad fruit, there are some things…[Read more]
