Life really likes to get in the way of writing, doesn’t it? What kind of college classes are you taking?
Here’s the blurb for my superhero book:

<p style=”text-align: center;”>What if our generation grew up in a world were superhumans were commonplace? What if these superhumans weren’t considered heroes?</p>
Humans with superpowers are running rampant around the United States, demolishing whole cities. The citizens demand retaliation. The government answers with the SuperHuman Detainment Facility, or SHDF. To run around free as a superhuman is now illegal.All that news seems distant. But when Scarlett Marley has a run-in with a super with fire powers, things are suddenly close to home.
But the thing is, she retained no burns from the accident.
Just a fire-like glow flickering in her eyes.
And two months later when fire suddenly spits from her hands, her life has become one of a criminal. She is transferred to the SHDF.
Life seems lost, but a chance comes that could get her back everything she wanted.
Her and four other teen supers are given an assignment to find one of the largest gangs of supers in the rubble remains of Chicago city. The reward? They’re to be the first to receive the experimental treatment to remove superpowers from their bodies.
But this gang and their leader, Rez, aren’t what the media say. Things are flipped on its head, and Scarlett questions everything she was ever told.
Now it comes down to this…

Kapeefer til we're old and greyThanks! Yes, it’s my NaNo novel. I think we probably did talk about it before here. I’m about 60k words in so far. I’m hoping to finish the first draft by the end of January, and fully edit it (including professional editor) during 2020. Do you have any writing goals for the year?

my goal is to finish up Decisions in the next couple of months, rewrite it over the summer, get it edited and then self publish probably by spring of 2021, but I’m still hoping for fall of this year

How are things? The news about the fires has been terrible. 🙁
Thankfully we’ve been all right, though I was evacuated from work the other day because of a fire that randomly sprang up during some really bad windy weather.

Great to hear that. Things have been well here, though there’s the ongoing hooha over the Wuhan virus. We’re having the Lunar New Year holidays now though so at least there’s a break from work.
How’s working life for you by the way?
Is that the Coronavirus? There’s been a freak out about that here too because someone in Melbourne has it.
I’d forgotten about the Lunar new year stuff. I don’t celebrate it myself but there’s usually a lot going on for it,because of the large Asian population I guess, but I haven’t seen any decorations or anything for it this year. Then again I hardly noticed Australia Day yesterday either. I suppose everyone is just distracted with a lot of other stuff.
Pretty good. I’m enjoying it a lot!
