I’m sure you realise how strange this question to be asking my characters in QOD since many of them do exactly that for a living, right? Granted, drama is not the same as musicals but you know what I mean.
Myeongwol will have great versatility as an actress so I would like to have her as an Eliza in My Fair Lady where she will have to speak as both a flower girl and a lady. I think she would also be good as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde or, if she channels her angst sufficiently, Fantine in Les Mis.
My question: If all the characters in your book come together to play a game of dodgeball, who would be the last one standing?
November 10, 2018 at 12:17 am #77899Remembrance is a really pretty name 😀 I might steal it for some character some day!
😛 Such a very Rochellaine question!
I honestly can’t imagine Yilla being in a musical at all, but if she were to be, she’d probably be in A Tale of Two Cities or Les Miserables. High-Praise would have a lot of fun in a musical, though I don’t think she’d be a very good actor. She’d probably be in Mary Poppins or something bright and cheerful like that. Courageous would love being in a musical and he’d actually be good at it. He’d probably be good at the male love interest role, such as Marius, Charles Darnay or Raoul, so he’d be in one of those musicals.

What was their favourite childhood toy or game?

November 10, 2018 at 12:29 am #77901There is a traditional Korean game, Ganggangsullae, that is played exclusively by women that I think Myeongwol might like since it involves song and dance. It involves holding each other’s hands to make a circle. The players would then start rotating. The lead singer would then sing a line of the song and everyone sings the refrain. Then the song tempo gradually becomes faster. I’m not sure how exactly the rest of the game works though. 😛
November 10, 2018 at 12:37 am #77902@valtmy that sounds like an interesting game! It reminds me a little of a game I used to play which used the song “King of Kings”, where there would be two circles of people holding hands, and one circle would sing “King of kings and lord of lords” while the other circle had to sing “Jesus, prince of peace” at the same time, getting faster and faster and trying to outsing the other group and not get the words confused 😛 The “glory, hallelujahs” had to be sung together so we didn’t get crazily out of time.

November 10, 2018 at 12:38 am #77903@valtmy Haha, yeah, I guess so. But I was meaning modern musicals, and you answered for that, so it works. 😉
At this point, I think it would be Kashti, whom you all have met only very briefly. He would show no mercy. 😛
@seekjustice You may steal it if you wish. 😛 I have no idea where I first heard it. Probably in some old historical fiction book about the Pilgrims from my childhood. But…but wasn’t Courageous the one who’s shy? Would he really like being on stage in front of people? Or is he one of the types who doesn’t mind people watching them as long as he doesn’t directly interact?
Bathshua’s favorite childhood pastime would probably have been listening to elders tell stories, or gossiping with girls she knew.
What invention would your characters like to have to make their everyday life easier? Â
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
November 10, 2018 at 12:43 am #77904Oh, he is shy. But one can’t stammer when they sing and a lot of people don’t stammer when they act either. So he’d feel normal. No one ever said he had to actually perform. And even then, most of his insecurities come from his stammer. 😀
It just popped into my head that High-Praise would like an electric toaster. Yilla would like a helicopter, since they’re what’s used nowadays for rounding up horses. Courageous would appreciate the invention of CDs/CD players (I feel you can’t have one without the other).

November 10, 2018 at 12:50 am #77905Myeongwol would want a television. Or a computer with Internet access so that she can watch romance dramas without having to sneak out. She would be one of those big K-drama and K-pop fans.
Speaking of K-pop…Â What music would your characters listen to while rocking out on iTunes/Spotify/whatever music channel you use?
November 10, 2018 at 1:00 am #77906@seekjustice I see. 🙂
CDs/CD players (I feel you can’t have one without the other)
I find your logic quite hilarious, for some reason, but I do agree with you. It’s probably the inevitability of your statement that makes it funny. 😛
@valtmy My characters would likely all prefer classic style Jewish music/songs, such as Hava Nagila, because it’s what they’re used to. Bathshua and Yishay would probably love Andre Rieu. And I have a feeling Yarin would be enchanted by the complex symphonies of composers like Beethoven and Brahms."Sylvester - Sylvester!"
November 10, 2018 at 1:05 am #77907Courageous would probably go for those classical German fellows, like Bach and Mozart. I can imagine High-Praise listening to Celtic laments. Yilla would like traditional music of all sorts.

November 10, 2018 at 1:07 am #77908Oh, and my question.
…
It’s becoming difficult to think of questions I haven’t asked before.
If they were attacked, what would they immediately use for a weapon?

November 10, 2018 at 1:09 am #77909Myeongwol would use her embroidery needle. I think you already know that. 😛
November 10, 2018 at 1:10 am #77910It wasn’t in the forefront of my mind, but yes, I guess she would 😀

November 10, 2018 at 1:24 am #77911@seekjustice Bathshua would be pretty helpless, even if her arm wasn’t broken and she wasn’t feverish. 😉 The best she could do would probably be flail and scream. Yishay and Kashti would use their everyday long knives. Yarin would use words.
One last question, before I depart. 😀
What would be the easiest way to make your characters smile?
Farewell!
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
November 10, 2018 at 1:31 am #77912@rochellaine Goodbye 😀
Easiest is relative when it comes to Yilla, but she tends to smile if someone else does something very amusing and not stupid 😛 High-Praise will smile at anyone and everyone if they bring her pretty things. Courageous smiles when someone says something nice to him.
@valtmy I should probably go too and get some things done. I’ll talk another day 🙂INFP Queen of the Kingdom commander of an army of origami cranes and a sabre from Babylon.
