September 11, 2018 at 10:58 pm #76627@rochellaine What you were saying about SE is true. ย Lots, like 90% of everyone, are into the fantasy and magic type of writing. ย I find I can’t post or respond to posts much without taking time I don’t have right now to explain myself. ย Its not as easy to state your beliefs there. ย Plus, its not as fun when I’m not your deputy. ๐

September 11, 2018 at 11:03 pm #76628@seekjustice Are you on right now?
"In a mask, was he?"
September 11, 2018 at 11:23 pm #76629@seekjustice I’m back!
The line between helpfulness and obsession…hm. ๐
@ariel-ashira Hello, I’m here now.ย One thing I noticed about SE was that it’s a lot like KP used to be. (obviously, because it’s run by the same people…) Basically what I mean is, while like you say, 90% of the people write fantasy and magic, a lot of the discussions even with them don’t actually have to do with fantasy and magic and can be useful in all writing, such as the villain topic I was discussing with SeekJustice yesterday.ย It takes skill to navigate, and I understand that it can’t be avoided altogether.ย However, like I told SeekJustice, I succeeded pretty well here, and made a lot of friends and no enemies ๐ so I think I’d be fine there.ย I probably won’t be joining SE for a while yet, since I don’t have the time right now, but it’s something I’d consider in the future.Make sense? ๐
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
September 11, 2018 at 11:33 pm #76630@rochellaine Yeah, that makes sense. ย My sister is on SE, which is the main reason I go there.
But it seriously is nicer with you around.
"In a mask, was he?"
September 11, 2018 at 11:38 pm #76631Yeah, and I feel they might be walking that line ๐
Oh, who’s your sister?

September 11, 2018 at 11:41 pm #76632September 11, 2018 at 11:47 pm #76633Wondering if writing letters to your future husband qualifies as obsessed.
Also working on my novel ๐

September 11, 2018 at 11:53 pm #76634@seekjustice Haha.ย Well, I’ve heard of people doing that, so I don’t think it’s a completely strange or new idea.ย It’s not something I’d do, though. ๐
However, I did once (several years ago) write a list of questions I’d ask a guy who wanted to court me and their required answers.ย I went over it again recently and realized how silly it was. ๐ย Because a lot of the questions I no longer care strongly one way or the other about.ย How much we change over the course of a few years!
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
September 11, 2018 at 11:57 pm #76635@seekjustice @ariel-ashira I need a name for a character.ย He’s the protagonist of one of my writing projects, and it’s set in a contemporary period.ย Since he’s the protagonist he needs to have a nice enough sounding name that people won’t be put off by it.ย However, it needs to be a very unusual name in order for the plot to work.ย The kick-off of the whole plot starts with the fact that his name is unusual.ย His surname can be normal, I don’t care about that.ย I just need a good, unusual but nice given name for him.
Any suggestions?

September 11, 2018 at 11:59 pm #76636I wouldn’t either, but I’m not adverse to the idea of praying for a husband (as in, praying for the guy, not praying that I would get one)
We do change a lot, don’t we? I don’t remember ever having a specific list though. I still don’t have one now, to be honest.

September 12, 2018 at 12:03 am #76638@seekjustice My sister is Selah Chelyah, and she writes primary historical fiction like I do. ย She’s two years older than me, and she’s awesome ( except for 2% of the time when I’m sure I could strangle her). ๐

September 12, 2018 at 12:05 am #76639Exactly how unusual are you thinking? More along the lines of Addison or, say, Adeodatus?

September 12, 2018 at 12:07 am #76640I remember seeing her around ๐ She does seem pretty cool. I’ve often wished that I had a big sister.
