My WIP. I have *sigh* this compulsive need to edit what I’ve already written when I really should be moving on.

Btw have you taken a look at the chapters I’ve uploaded for my WIP? Cos I think it might be helpful if I got some comments before I proceed any further.
June 11, 2018 at 11:30 pm #74138I haven’t yet and I’m really sorry. I’ve just had a hectic month.

June 11, 2018 at 11:44 pm #74139Haha it’s fine I completely understand!ย ๐ There’s no real rush since I’m also still not done with the second part.
June 12, 2018 at 2:17 am #74142@seekjustice @valtmy Are either of you still around?ย I wasn’t on before because I was completing a law school assignment, but it’s done now and I’ll be writing for a little bit.
@leumeister You said you might be on this topic sometimes?ย How about now? ๐"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
June 12, 2018 at 2:21 am #74143Yep, I just rearrived ๐ I’m supposed to be editing…but whoops, I’m watching YouTube videos on the historical inaccuracies of Anastasia.

June 12, 2018 at 2:26 am #74144The funniest thing about that is that the video pointing out the historical inaccuracies is also rather extremely inaccurate ๐

June 12, 2018 at 2:34 am #74145@seekjustice I love those!ย …oh, I hate those!! ๐
I love discussing historical inaccuracies, and watching videos about them is very fun.ย However, I also am horrified when I see a video that is itself purporting to be accurate and is instead very inaccurate.ย I saw a few of those recently when I was watching fashion history videos.ย Some of them were horribly done and seemed just slapped together with people’s misconceptions of the fashion of the era, rather than actual well-researched videos.ย It was so annoying!! ๐
Oh, recently I watched an episode of The Time Tunnel, a 60s tv show about time travel, where they time traveled to the Titanic just a few days before it sank.ย A girl played the piano in one scene, and I recognized the song she was playing.ย On a whim, I looked it up, and lo and behold!ย The song had been introduced only one or two days before the sinking of the Titanic, so there was no way the girl could have gotten the sheet music!ย …I wonder if you can telegraph sheet music?ย I don’t think so. ๐ย I assume you do the same type of thing when you watch historical movies/shows?
I was just wandering through the ages old pages of the Character Art Exchange and found a drawing by Dragon Snapper of Justice!!!ย I didn’t know she drew him! ๐ย I love her style of art, so I was really excited…and saved the picture to my computer. ๐

@emma-flournoy is beta-reading a story for me (Thank you, dudette! ^_^), and she’s really helping. It’s also nice to go through my story and see it through someone else’s eyes.June 12, 2018 at 2:48 am #74148It was crazy :D. “Alexei, unfortunately suffered from haemophilia, which meant he had to be carried around everywhere, until the disease took his life. After that, times got very dark for the surviving members of his family”…I’m sure it did, since they were all shot a minute later. ๐
Yes, I do that as well ๐ It drives everyone else insane. In fact, I’ve been championing for a movie/tv series about the Wright Brothers for years now, since I’m sort of obsessed with them, and this afternoon, I actually said to my mum that the directors of this hitherto nonexistant series should hire me as a consultant.
Me: No, no, sir, you can’t do that! Thatย neverย happened! I don’t care about drama! Its not accurate!
Me: And NO! He can’t wear that bow tie!! That style didn’t come until two years later. You can’t just throw away history for the sake of fashion!
Director: Why don’t you go and consult for a documentary?
Anyway. One of my favourite movies isย Chariots of Fire and it opens at the funeral of Harold Abrahams, where the eulogy is given by a friend of his who’d died 20 years earlier.
Oh yes, I remember that. I had forgotten but I’d saved the picture into my “fangirling” folder. Dekreel also drew a picture of Chessy and Sapphire.

June 12, 2018 at 2:49 am #74149@leumeister Because I tagged you? ๐ย That’s how we always get people to come on here.ย Anyway, it worked, didn’t it?ย You’re here now! ๐
Oh yes!ย Having someone beta-read is definitely helpful!ย If only I could get the next section of my book done for my own beta-readers. ๐ย (I am an extremely slow writer…)ย Do you write faster, or edit faster?ย There is a divide among us here.ย @seekjustice is a lightning-speed writer, but hates to edit, and I write like a snail who forgets where he’s going, but love editing. ๐
