*frowns at 939 posts* I am going to be one soon too!
Um…we’ve been talking about musicals. Aren’t you shocked?INFP Queen of the Kingdom commander of an army of origami cranes and a sabre from Babylon.
March 21, 2018 at 12:37 am #67848@seekjustice The only thing that reconciles me to Romeo and Juliet’s sad end is that they did actually get married before they died. I think most people forget that part. My brother hated West Side Story because he doesn’t like sad endings. You, on the other hand… 😀
@dekreel Hello! We’ve been talking about musicals, as usual. Bobert isn’t here tonight, since he stayed up too late last night and I’ve told him to go to bed early."Sylvester - Sylvester!"
March 21, 2018 at 12:39 am #67849It’s not so much that Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy that I dislike, it’s more that it’s…a pointless tragedy, I guess. Also, Juliet is thirteen years old. Am I the only one disturbed by that? I will try West Side Story though, when I get a chance.

March 21, 2018 at 12:54 am #67850@seekjustice That does seem a little weird for a thirteen-year-old…
@rochellaine Ahh, I should have known. XPYou can pronounce it however you want.
March 21, 2018 at 12:56 am #67851@dekreel I know right!

March 21, 2018 at 1:01 am #67852@seekjustice Yes. Totally pointless. It shows you the importance of communication. One thing I really hate about it is that I absolutely adored the character of the priest who counseled Romeo amazingly well and married him and Juliet secretly and sweetly, but then completely failed to help in the end when he held the information about Juliet’s plan and could have saved them from killing themselves! I wish I could have kept loving him until the end.
I kind of ignore the fact that she is thirteen years old and make her sixteen or seventeen in my head. Because at that time thirteen was a common age for girls to marry, I just change it into a semi-common young but marriageable age for modern times. It’s called time machine translation. (It’s called that because I just made up that name. 😀 )

March 21, 2018 at 1:07 am #67853@seekjustice It makes me wonder if marrying at thirteen was common during that time? I suppose so since they wanted to marry Juliet to Paris. Still… I would think that a thirteen-year-old would value life so that she wouldn’t have to kill herself if her lover died.
But I suppose that’s symbolic, come to think of it. I wonder…

March 21, 2018 at 1:29 am #67856I just looked up the average age for marriage in Elizabethan England and boys were legally allowed to marry at 14 and girls at 12 but boys usually got married at around 21. I imagine girls would have been younger, but thirteen seems a bit excessive. And since the woman’s main task was to have children it does seem strange that they would be married off before sixteen/seventeen. That’s just my opinion though, Shakespeare and Elizabethan era are not my areas of interest.

March 21, 2018 at 1:34 am #67858@seekjustice I think part of the point of Romeo and Juliet was that they were too young to know what they were getting into, and too idealistic because of their young age. Do you agree?

March 21, 2018 at 1:59 am #67861@seekjustice Are you still here? I have a mild little problem to discuss…

March 21, 2018 at 2:03 am #67862Yeah sorry. I’m still here I just got distracted reading @dekreel ‘s KPA.
Uh oh. *glances around nervously*. Okay, I’m ready.

March 21, 2018 at 2:06 am #67863@seekjustice Oh, but that’s the problem. 😀 Don’t get me wrong, it’s hilarious. My problem is that I was just about to announce the opening of my website, (*waves arms around with glee* did you hear that? I have a website!!!) and now I’m afraid to do so on account of the fact that I will be present in everyone’s minds as a comical disbelief squad person rather than a professional author. 🙂

March 21, 2018 at 2:11 am #67864Whooo!!!! That’s so EXCITING!!!!
Well, I can see your dilemma. I think you cut quite a regal and authoritative figure though.

March 21, 2018 at 2:18 am #67865@seekjustice Ah, thank you! 😀
Yes, I guess I did. 🙂 I do like it.
Biggest problem is probably that I have a couple of conscience problems with the fact that she had me let the Troll continue to exist, since I believe trolls are evil creatures, similar to and possibly the same as demons, so I don’t want that following me to my website. 🙁 Of course, here I go under a different name, since my website has all my true information attached to it, so it would only be the people here on KP who would know that Rochellaine in Dekreel’s story was me.

March 21, 2018 at 2:20 am #67866@seekjustice If this is too serious a discussion for you it’s okay. Sorry. 🙂 I probably didn’t really need to bring it up.
