I’ve been doing alright. Been reading a lot of books by Tessa Afshar, a biblical fiction writer, but been painfully neglecting my writing. How about you?

Kapeefer til we're old and greyOoh, I’ve heard of Tessa Afshar but I’ve never read any of her books. What are some of her plots about?
I’ve read some really good books lately, mostly non-fiction and adult historical fiction! My writing’s been pretty good too. I finished another novel a couple of days ago which was really good and I’ve got plans to start another one very soon.

I highly recommend her. My favorite one (Bread of Angels) is about Lydia, the maker of purple in the book of Acts that Paul mentions. I’m currently read Daughter of Rome, which is about Aquila and Pricilla. Its really good too. She mostly writes about women in the Bible, but sometimes she takes a story of the Bible and creates a fictional character to place in that story.
Congratulations! What was this novel about and what’s the next one about? (Also, if you ever need a beta reader I would love to volunteer)

Thank you! The one I just finished is a dark(ish) fantasy thriller about two brothers, who may or may not hate each other, who have to uncover an ancient conspiracy with the help of an immortal half-elf. The one I’m working on plotting at the moment is a historical fantasy set in an alternate version of our world about a brother and sister duo of botanists who accidentally join a pirate voyage instead of the voyage of scientific discovery they thought they were joining š

They are so well done. The author does so much research to make them historically and culturally accurate as well as biblically accurate.
Ooooooh, this has me intrigued. The half-elf is already my favorite character.
I love sibling duos! They are under utilized in stories

Hopefully it will be intriguing. I pantsed the whole thing (which IĀ do not do) so its not in great shape at the moment but at least the first draft is done and I’ve got something to work with. The half-elf is awesome. Definitely one of my favourite characters and I’ve got to expand his character a little more in the second draft.

I am trying to fill in holes and missing information and skipped scenes (my first draft is literally just the main plot and that’s it, nothing else), but I can’t seem to figure out how to do so

I just can’t figure out how to add them in without making it annoying to read, like its forced. I’m also trying to add more world building (because Tolkien is my favorite author and I want to slightly resemble that) so its being difficult

this year was interesting lol. I started a youtube channel and have been trying to get out of my comfort zone (like talking to people and such). I’m also getting back into writing again cause I haven’t written written anything in the past year. o_oBut I enjoy writing so yeah lol
