Would it be considered rude to tag people so that they get notified about this conversation? (Cause that is not my intention) *puppy dog eyes*
March 2, 2016 at 7:47 pm #9604No, I don’t think so… but I don’t know if this forum even has forty four more active members, let alone all from different states. 😉
I was born in Texas, if that counts for anything… love that state, despite all the mosquitoes. 😀

March 2, 2016 at 7:55 pm #9606More Washington state facts:
-The space needle has this nifty revolving floor upstairs. I’ve been up there and it’s pretty cool. Though the elevator charge is WAY to much.
-We serve the largest ferry fleet in the US. (All those islands, y’know)
-We have a rainforest.
@bluejay Ever tried out a didgeridoo? We volunteered in Israel with a couple of Aussies once and got filled in on plenty of trivia regarding all things Australian. 😉We need more people. We still have 44 states to fill.
Let’s seeee… Daniel’s from Oklahoma.
@daniel-leinad-thompson-2-2-2, come tell us about the land where the wind comes sweeping down the plains. 😛March 2, 2016 at 8:19 pm #9609Right. Tags here they come.

Come on guys, which state are you from? Join in the fun. 😀March 2, 2016 at 8:20 pm #9610Ah, let’s see, has anyone mentioned that today is Texas Independence Day? Texas is the only US State to be its own nation for several years before becoming a state. Well, I guess there were also the Hawaii Islands (which didn’t become a state until the 1950s) but I’m not sure that counts.
INTJ - Inhumane. No-feelings. Terrible. Judgment and doom on everyone.

March 2, 2016 at 8:42 pm #9617I live in Indiana, and yes, we grow WAY TOO MUCH CORN!!!! It’s all over the place where I live. Um, let’s see, some facts about Indiana, the southern part is more hick and warm and receptive than the northern part of Indiana.
Indiana weather is bipolar. Seriously. It snowed the other day and then it was seventy degrees five days later. So it doesn’t know what it wants to be when it grows up. 😛
General Lew Wallace actually lived in Indiana! So did Gene Stratton Porter. She was an excellent authoress who lived in this state. Also, Indiana has a home school convention known as the IAHE and it is in April. Are any of y’all going to be there? Some of my family and I will be there and running a booth there. It would be so awesome to meet some of you peeps! 🙂
And by the way, this is an awesome topic! I’ve been wondering where people lived…and it’s kind of creepy to just straight out ask them. 😛
March 2, 2016 at 8:44 pm #9618Wow, guys. I think I can taste… like… bald eagle feathers. Also, freedom.
Really bad knock-knock joke:
Knock, knock!
Who’s there?
Not freedom.
Freedom rings.
*drops mic*
Anywayz, I’m from Georgia. If any others of you happy rebellious hooligans also reside in the state that is also known as awesome, we should meet up sometime. ‘cuz Georgians is cool. *emphatic nodding* We also cannot spell (but we’re not quite as bad as Alabama. And by not quite as bad, I mean that we’re ranked second to last and then there’s Alabama.)

March 2, 2016 at 9:13 pm #9619Nope sorry. I shall not be attending said event. 🙂
You live on the hot n dry side right?

March 2, 2016 at 9:25 pm #9620Gene Stratton-Porter! I can’t believe I forgot her— everybody should read Gene Stratton-Porter. Fantastic with characters.
March 2, 2016 at 9:38 pm #9621Iowa! *Peeks around* I think I’m the first one here from Iowa. GO TED CRUZ! Though his nomination is looking more and more bleak. 🙁
Here in Iowa, we caucus for presidential nominees.
Iowa had the highest fighting men to population ratio in the Civil War. At least among the Union.
America is still one of the best, most free, wonderful countries in the world.- This reply was modified 8 years, 8 months ago by David B. Hunter.
March 2, 2016 at 10:43 pm #9623It seems that nobody here lives in North Carolina, but that’s alright, you’re not missing out on anything. We get no snow to speak of, Winter only lasts two months, Summers are Hot, Humid, and over-all irritating, everyone goes to church but is not necessarily a Christian, we have cactus, mosquitoes, and large Cockroaches, while all people grow is tobacco….I grew up in the Granite State so don’t accuse me of disloyalty! 😉 On the bright side, we do have a gorgeous piece of the Appalachian mountain range, including the famous blue ridge parkway and Grandfather mountain. Also, NC is either first or second state with the most Thunder storms, and the southern drawl is very fun to listen to.
And that’s about all I know about the Tar Heel State; if anyone knows anything more about it, including why it’s called that, I’d love to hear it! 🙂March 3, 2016 at 9:25 am #9626Aren’t you the ones that have the licence plate feud with us over who can really claim the Wright brothers?
Oh yeah, another Amerifact is that we invented the airplane (or if you’r an ooparts fanatic, perhaps we reinvented it)

March 3, 2016 at 10:18 am #9627I’m originally from Ohio (yes the Wright Brothers were from Ohio therefore Ohio gets the title), but for the last 16 months I’ve been living in Florida.
