Totally! I’m not a big reader of romance, but I’m all for wholesome relationships between characters who actually would sacrifice themselves for each other.. like, especially when they’re already married 😂 I know most people love the teenager crush drama, but I honestly prefer the ‘boring’ couples. They’re so much more sweet. Is that just me?

December 15, 2022 at 9:49 pm #124678I get that! I haven’t read enough to have a stance on that, I just know that a lot of the books with the teenage crushes tend to be not ok, so I don’t read them. I actually really like the teenage crushes in books, but you have to be careful how it’s portrayed. I think people need to realize teenage crushes don’t have to have drama…
I’d love to see a book where a love triangle is developed until all three character’s realize this is dumb and up and leave, finding people who work better for them or staying single and enjoying it. 😂 Ok, that book would be a total flop, but what I’m saying is books ruin it sometimes.
And yeah! I think married couples in books can be really fun too read too. I haven’t read a lot of books, so I don;t have much experience with it, but it sounds really nice! And yeah, still lot’s of potential to be sweet.

Ah yes, faking readers out is one of the best feelings, especially when they fall for it hard 🤣

December 16, 2022 at 8:13 am #124688Yeah, the drama’s the problem 😂 I’ve wondered about writing a love triangle like that, but I don’t have the guts. I can’t think of a good married couple right off the bat, but some of them are the best.

December 16, 2022 at 8:17 am #124689My story actually has more of a friend triangle than a love triangle, but in the future, obviously one of the boys will end up with her. It’s not like love is the goal – but the boys hate each other and almost compete for her friendship. So…it’s like…does that count? 😅

I don’t mind romance if it’s not the main plot line and it doesn’t use much imagery. Like maybe a kiss but that’s as far as I’ll go. I actually read a romance series but it used courtship instead of dating and there was nothing physical about it so I enjoyed it. It’s literally called the Courtship series if anyone is interested. Lol
