        Hello and welcome back!! I never officially met you, but at the beginning of this year, I think in March, there was a short story contest, and I almost created a KP account in time to participate, but I wasn’t able to. Life, I guess. But I did read the short stories, and yours was so good!! I think it was called “Witches Son” or something like that.

        XD Anyway! I’m Lightoverdarkness, a young teen writer who loves exploring the outdoors, playing piano, reading, drawing, and, of course, writing!

        Even tho you’re not new, I’m gonna ask you a few get-to-know-you-questions anyway XD!!

        1. Which of your characters remind you the most of yourself??

        2. If you could spend a day with your choice of any three people (celebraties, sports figure, writer, historical figure, etc.) Who would you choose?

        3. What’s your favorite book (and/or author?)

          @loopylin Hey there! Another Lin! Yeah, Alice in Wonderland is definitely on the surreal side and is One of The Books Of All Time. Oo, you do horror too? I have some half-written short stories that try to be a bit on the horror side, but I feel like a lot of mine edge on thriller instead.

          I do have several finished books, but nothing published yet. My most recent work was a sci-fi retelling of the Prodigal Son with Cain and Abel.

          Hi! I remember you too! How’s it going?

          @lightoverdarkness6
          Aww thank you! I’m glad you liked my story! I really enjoyed writing it.

          1. I would probably say my character Jeremiah reminds me of myself; most of the struggles I gave him are ones that I’m currently going through, lol. Which is rare because I don’t usually do that for characters.

          2. Hmm, any three people…probably my friends, haha. We don’t spend enough time together.

          3. My top favorite book is The Little Prince, but East of Eden by John Steinbeck is also up there.

          What about you?

            I’m not actually sure what the difference between horror and thriller is, but yes I have started some. I have one main scary story about old Mickey Mouse/ Felix the Cat style black and white cartoons. I also have another unfinished short story that is a murder mystery and there’s one of those kit-kat clocks (the old cat clocks whose eyes move back and forth) in the room where the murder happened.

            Your sci-fi story sounds cool. I have never actually finished a book, so I’m always immediately impressed by people who have. 😆

              @loopylin I believe horror has supernatural elements whereas thriller is more of a crime thing, like the difference between a ghost and a killer. The premise of your story sounds a lot like Bendy and the Ink Machine, but I would totally read it!

              Aye, I believe you can also finish a book one day!

                Yeah… I’ve been struggling to keep my story from being too much like that. They are frustratingly similar sometimes.

                Thank you! 😄

                  @devastate-lasting It’s been good!! I was just watching a video about making music out of a mathematical diagram. Weird stuff. But very interesting!

                    And now I’m listening to a song that I really want to make into a music video once I know how to animate! My friend and I wrote it into a fanfic we were writing, and now that story is all I can think about when I listen to it…..

                      @devastate-lasting

                      I never understood how authors wrote actual long books. Now I understand how… but it’s still hard to do! XD My WIP will probably be about 50,00-60,000 words. Which I feel is not a lot compared to what some other authors write, but its progress and I’ll take it!

                      Short stories can be much easier! I find short stories hard sometimes, bc I’ll start with a plot, then I keep adding more and more into it, and it’s most likely going to be a novella/novel. XD

                        That’s about how much I usually manage too! Short stories are a lot easier, but I start a lot of them and never finish them, lol.

                          Ugh! Just jumping in here. Short stories are so hard! I wrote a full 1 for the 1st time this Christmas. It was hard! I’m going to start doing more but yeah. Maybe they’ll get easier as time goes on and I do more of them. Anyway, novelette and novellas is all I’ve done so far. I’d like to be able to do a full novel but they really are hard. I tend to go for novellas in series. I prefer reading full novels and writing novelettes/novellas.

                            @sarafini Yes! Stories definitely get easier the more you do. Hey, novelettes and novellas are impressive! I’ve done very few of those.

                              The Black Mongoose still creeps through the halls of KP. He keeps in the shadows mostly, but does pretty regularly peer through the key holes in the forum doors to spy on the unsuspecting new folk. 😎🧐

                                @devastate-lasting My WIP has a list of possible topics, the tentative one is A Girl Named Buttercup. Yesterday I just hit 12,ooo words!! Maybe I’ll start a forum with my title ideas, but people would really have to know the story… Maybe I’ll post my WIP soon.

                                  Out of curiosity, is there a difference between novelettes and novellas?
