Ugh, Alan actually did it. I was hoping he’d come to his senses. The ending of that chapter is the kind that always makes me and my siblings chant “read another chapter!” when my dad does read alouds. Anyway, I think the descriptions of magic were fine. It’s fantasy, and you made it all up.

Next chapter. 30 chapters now. Wow.
Chapter the 30th – The Regretful
Also, of those of you who found spell images disturbing, there will be no more descriptions of them for the remained of this book. So you can continue reading without have to worry about that.
December 19, 2024 at 4:00 pm #192403It’s good. I like it.
I feel like Alan should have been a bit more remorseful in the end. It felt more like he tried to snitch a cookie and got caught more then he was using black magic. idk. I would have liked a repentance prayer, maybe a few tears, idk. It just didn’t feel real to me. *shrug* that might just be me.
Otherwise, I think this was all quite good! I’m excited for more!
Man is born for the fight, to be forged and molded into a sharper, finer, stronger image of God
December 20, 2024 at 12:02 pm #192470I felt creative so I made this for you.
I hope you like it.
It’s probably not perfect, but then again, an aesthetic is only supposed to remind you of the character, so maybe it’ll be fine.

December 20, 2024 at 12:09 pm #192473Wow, thanks! Even got the purple eyes. Is that a crow on a horse in there? Did you put the hand in there for the his wizard scars?
It feels a little too dark for Alan. It needs his bright and heroic side. I don’t see much of a desire to go on or break free from the darkness. Not a big fan of the font. But this does fit the tone of regret, and magic.

Noted, thanks!

You’re welcome!
Yes, that is a crow on the horse.
Yes, that is for the scars.

Yeah, but all I could think about was the last couple of scenes while I was making it. I guess that kinda affected the way it came across.

Hmm. What do you think if I drop the across altogether.
like this.
This might even change the feel a little bit. I feel like it makes it lighter. You might like this better.

December 20, 2024 at 12:20 pm #192479Yeah, but all I could think about was the last couple of scenes while I was making it. I guess that kinda affected the way it came across.
I kind of woundered that.
Yeah, that’s better! Now I can see a picture that was blocked before. The man with his arms in the air. I think that cries redemption louder than the red text.
December 20, 2024 at 12:27 pm #192483Well don’t make your readers mad, and then they’ll get your aesthetic boards right. lol

Good. Okay.
I didn’t realize how dark the text made it until I took it off.

Here we go. Are you ready?
I think you can tell what direction I’m going with this, but I want to hear your thoughts before we see what Alan does. What do you think Alan should do and why?
December 21, 2024 at 12:45 pm #192589If you’re asking what do I think he should do right now (before I read the chapter), then i don’t know. There’s not much he can do, besides not cooperate.
Oh yay! We’ve hit the chapter that has the book name, This’ll be good.

Was that supposed to be a prank…………
This should be chapter 22…… (Chapter 30th being The Prison and Chapter 31st The Regretful,) but there is no Chapter 22nd!
Where did it go?
