Luckily for you, I was just thinking about changing it out for something less threatening, but I haven’t ironed out what yet.

December 24, 2024 at 12:57 pm #192799Okay, new part of the games is out!!
Chapter 1
Monday
Danger on the Rapids
The contestants began to wake up, due to the preset alarms that were included in each hotel room. The time was seven in the morning, and everyone was tired and cranky. Especially Aurora.
Eventually all the contestants gathered in the cafe for breakfast. After they ate the bus arrived to take the contestants to learn what the first game will be. âUgh, I didnât get a wink of sleep last night!â Aurora complained. âThis is the worst hotel I have ever slept at!â
âI thought it was super cozy!â Owiti commented.
âOf course you would think that! Since your poor.â Aurora rolled her eyes.
âAm I the only one that couldnât fall asleep?â Katerina asked her friends
âYeah, it feels very different. Being on an island and all.â Ziporah said softly.
âDonât worry. Weâll most likely go home soon!â Alyona smiled soullessly.
âWhat…â Ziporah’s face went flat… Again.
The bus stopped at the parking lot of the main stage and the contestants filed out of the bus to the seats.
âWelcome everyone! If you are wondering where we are, this is the place where we will hold all the voting!â Allen announced.
âAnd now, to all of you unaware, this is how the Diamond Games will work. Each day, except for Sunday, your teams will compete in a challenge voted on by the viewers to win money. Two teams will win each day, and two will lose. The teams that win will be invincible from having a teammate voted out and will have a chance to vote on who the vandal is in their team. The vandal is someone on the team trying to sabotage his teammates to win the money for himself. The losing teams will be up for voting on, in which one person from each team will be voted out and leave. By the end of the games, only one team will win.â
âSpeaking of which, we have gotten our first votes!â He turned on the tv and revealed the votes.
âIt seems that rapid river racing has won! I hope you all can swim! Because you will, possibly, fall off.â
âUm, I’m not really that good at swimming…â Jaydan seemed concerned.
âWell then, weâll make sure that you wonât fall off!â Ziporah merrily yelled.
âImagine not being able to swim.â Antin scoffed quietly to Alwin.
âAlright, what are we waiting for? Time to hit the rafts!â Allen put a stop to all the talking and guided them to the rapids.
âHere they are! The rapids of Jade Island!â Before them was a large river with many rocks and fast-moving, deep water.
âFirst one to reach the finish line with their whole team wins, and gets money added to their pot. Last two teams there are up for elimination!â Allen stepped onto the dock and assigned the rafts.
âThe red flags will mark checkpoints, and there are three of them. Good luck!â
Everyone got into their team’s raft and was ready for the game to begin. The rafts had seven seats on them, with six down the length of it, and the final one at the front for viewing what was ahead.
âAlright Argonauts, I will be sitting in the front for top instructions! Arizona and Judith, you’re the weakest so you will be sitting near the front, paddling.â Beatrice said.
âHey!â Arizona and Judith interrupted.
âWell maybe you shouldnât have told me that you donât like working out! Anyway!â Beatrice continued
âNext Quin and Eric, you two are the strongest out of all of us,â Quin and Eric grinned, looking at each other.
âSo you will be in the back, steering!â
âWait, why? Shouldnât we be in the front?â Eric asked.
âNo, you idiot, since you’re too dumb to understand, I will explain it! The two people in the back will be steering the giant raft full of people, it will take more work to move it!â Beatrice yelled.
âEdgar, Pawel. You will be in the middle, so that you can help with either steering or paddling!â Without any further argument, the rest of the team went into the raft.
Meanwhile with the Sirens.
âThis is so dumb!â Aurora yelled. âWhy do I have to sit in the top and row?â
âBecause you are one of the oldest?â Walter shrugged. âAlright, Rosamund and Owiti, you guys should probably sit in the middle, and Sebastian and Buddy, you guys steer. And Aurora and Joshua will be in the front part. I will navigate.â
âAnd who said you were in charge?â Sebastian questioned seriously.
âI did, now come on, the game is about to begin.â Walter hopped into the front and the rest followed in.
The rest of the teams didnât have much trouble getting in, except for the Olympians.
âI think I should be the navigator, since I have perfect vision! Besides, I took a navigation class before. I know everything there is to know!â Antin explained. âI wouldnât let the team down!â
âThat may be true, but I have had my fair share of navigation as well. Besides I am older and more sensible.â Robert pointed out.
âThat leaves you Daiwa, Ziporah and Vitaliya are on my side, and Alwin and Jaydan are on his, so who should navigate?â Robert asked in a hurry.
âWell… No offense to Antin, but Robert is just way more experienced. So, I guess him?â Daiwa thought out.
âPerfect, get in!â Robert hustled everyone into the raft and then the buzzer went off.
The race had begun. The boats launched off from the starting point and floated down the river, and already Beatriceâs team, the Argonauts, were in first.
âLEFT, GO LEFT!â Beatrice yelled at her team.
âOkay, okay calm down Bea.â Quin rolled his eyes.
âDonât you DARE call me Bea again!â She yelled back. She sat at the front, pointing to which way to go. âLooks like weâll be alright for a bit, the water doesnât look too rough yet.â
Small waves bumped the boat along for a good two minutes, and then, all at once, the boat sped up, and waves splashed against it, spraying water all over Beatrice. âTake it easy guys, weâre getting to a rough part!â she spluttered, grabbing onto the boat.
âNo kidding.â Judith muttered.
âOkay, forward paddle!â Bea yelled above the steadily growing noise of the churning river. âForward!â
âSheesh, canât she shut up?â Eric muttered to Quin.
âYeah, we shouldâve been the ones leading.â Quin whispered back.
âWhy donât you two stop complaining and paddle?â Pawel commented, swinging his paddle forward and into the frothy waves.
âWhy donât you keep your nose out of where itâs not wanted?â Eric snapped, glaring at him. He dug his paddle forwards, with a particularly strong stroke that splashed Pawel. Pawel stopped for a moment, wiping the water.
âEric!â
Eric smirked, âWhoops, wrong stroke.â Quin chuckled.Pawel swung his paddle around and hit Eric in the arm, with not much power. âOw! Your gonna pay for that!â Eric kicked the back of Pawelâs seat. Before long the three began to fight, and their team lagged behind the Sirens and the Harpies.
âWould you IDIOTS stop fighting and paddle!â Bea yelled at the top of her lungs.
âThough I would hate to agree with someone who yells like that, you morons should straighten up.â Edgar stared back at them.
Meanwhile, on the Olympians, Robertâs team bounced against the rapids, paddling down the river on the Argonaut’sâ heels.
âStroke! Stroke!â Robert yelled. âForwards! Weâll pass the Argonauts if you keep it up!â
The river tossed them about, spraying water over the sides.
âWoah!â Ziphora cried, bouncing and nearly falling off as they went down and surged back up.
âYou alight?â Vitaliya asked, glancing over in concern.
âYeah, thanks.â Ziphora replied. âLook, weâre passing them!â
Sure enough, the Olympians crept up ahead of the Argonauts. Antin grinned, âGreat! Weâll win this race in no time!â
âUh, I wouldnât speak too soon.â Jaydan murmured, glancing at the water worriedly. He didnât like how much the raft bumped on the water, or the number of times heâd clutched the handle next to him for dear life.
âJaydan might be right. Look alive, team, thereâs a cluster of rocks up ahead. Weâre in for a rough ride.â Robert announced, âForward stroke!â
The Sirens rushed ahead, taking first. âUgh, my shoes are soaked!â Aurora complained, looking down at her squishy shoes. âNoone told me it would be this wet!â
âGee, did the ârapid river raftingâ give you any clue it might be?â Rosemond rolled her eyes as she paddled.
Aurora glared at her, her face growing red. âOh well, these were just designer shoes anyway! Since Iâm not broke, I have plenty more than just this pair and all.â Aurora looked around smugly, but no one seemed to care.
âCut it out you two, we have to work together if weâre going to win.â Walter said. He stopped paddling, then whipped his head back and barked, âBackwards paddle, now!â
âWha-â
âNow!â Walter exclaimed, then with a sudden wave the raft crashed into the water, drenching them and nearly flinging Owiti out.
âAAAAAA!â Owiti bounced into the air, waving his arms wildly for something, anything. He fell back down onto the raft â without his paddle. He looked over to the side and caught a glimpse of the paddleâs handle sinking into the swirling river. He leaned back in and felt Rosemondâs gaze on him.
âUh, Walter? I sort of lost my paddle.â
Walter looked back at him, then back to the front. âThatâs alright, Owiti, Iâm sure-ââNice going, dimwit.â Aurora interrupted, annoyed. âYouâve probably cost us the victory now.â
âThe only thing thatâs going to cost us the victory is your attitude.â Sebastian commented. âItâs okay, Owiti, donât feel bad.ââOh, so now itâs my fault?â Auroraâs voice dripped with irritation.
Walter sighed, staring ahead. They had passed the first flag, only two more until the finish line. It felt like two too many.
And now, to the Athenians. âKyomi! Why are you leading us a- OOF!â Kozue was interrupted when her team hit another rock.
âPersonally, I think that anyone but her would have made a better leader.â Edvaldo began to focus and gained his team momentum.
âCan we slow down? I am feeling nauseous.â Calvin leaned over the boat. Callum watched and rolled his eyes as he continued to paddle.
âWere losing speed with you not paddling!â Kyomi yelled. Calvin sat up and grabbed his paddle, before leaning over again. This time, however, he did not get back up. He leaned too far over the edge, and Callum swung his paddle around, knocking Calvin over.
âCallum! What was that for!â Kozue yelled.
âIâM SORRY! I Wanted to ask if he was okay… But I forgot about my paddle!â Callum tried to explain.
âWe have to turn around now!â Kyomi shouted.
âAre you sure? I think we just have to make it to the end.â Edvaldo said uncertainly.
âBut I thought the guy said we had to have all of our teammates?â Kyomi began to try and turn around, but Edvaldo wouldnât let her.
âIt would be a waste of time to go get him and then race to the finish! Besides, do you remember the host guy specifically saying that?â Edvaldo questioned.
âNo, I donât think so.â Kozue agreed. Callum just shook his head.
âThen itâs settled, we make it to the finish.â Edvaldo said, and they continued to paddle. And the Athenians were back on track, leaving Calvin.
âPick up the pace, guys, weâre in last!â Robin hated the sight of the rafts up ahead. The one in front wasnât too far ahead, but at this point, all Robin cared about was being in first.
âIt doesnât matter if we lose, weâll probably all lose anyway and get out.â Alyona replied, paddling without much enthusiasm.
âKeep your spirits up, we can make it. we still have two flags to go until the finish line.â Blaze said cheerfully. They were at a point where the water was less bumpy and were rounding a corner of the river.
âRight, itâll be⌠backwards! Backwards!â Rachel yelled, frantically paddling. âWeâre headed towards some rocks!â The raft was indeed speedily nearing rocks as the river pushed them towards it. Luckily, the team followed her orders and just cleared them. âGreat job, guys!â
Except now, they had a new problem. Rachel was facing the back of the river, and Boyan, who had been at the back, now faced the front.Rachel sighed in frustration, âBackpedal.â The team attempted maneuvering the raft, except the river pushed them along, and as they back peddled, they went around in circles. Finally, they regained control and passed the rough waves, only to lose sight of the other rafts.
âCome on guys, double time!â Katerina shouted. She wouldnât be losing today, not the first challenge.
The river swirled around their raft, rising. âCome on, only one more flag to go!â Robert pointed ahead, then grasped his paddle. âWe can make it!â
âSurely nothing bad will happen now.â Ziporah said. And then something bad happened. A rough patch of water sent the raft whirling down the river, then smacked into a cluster of rocks. âWoah!â each team member lurched forward, and Alwin tumbled down the raft.
Robert jumped to his feet, âEveryone up! No time to lose!â
âAnd this is exactly why I didnât want to come.â Daiwa muttered, hopping out with Robert, Ziporah and Antin.
âYou guys in the raft, get back to your spots.â Robert said, and he and the others waded out and stood atop the sandy shore where the rocks lay, then shoved off. At this point, it didnât matter though. As the others pushed the boat, Vitaliya and Jaydan watched the other rafts speed by.
âGo, go, go!â Antin exclaimed, and he, Robert, Ziporah and Daiwa jumped back in, and the raft was on the move again.
âWe can still make it!â Robert exclaimed.
Daiwa shook her head, but didnât say anything as she took her seat again.
âHey, did you guys see that? we passed one of the teams!â Nathan grinned. âIf we pass one more, weâll be safe!â
âKeep up the good work guys, and watch out for water ahead, itâs not looking too promising.â Rachel said. The boat bounced along and soon passed the third flag.
âWell, we still have to pass one more boat, and at this point-â before Alyona finished her thought, Blaze shouted,
âThereâs the finish line, and look, we still have a chance!â The raft ahead of them was only about 20 feet away.
âPaddle, faster!â Rachel cried, but alas, to their bitter disappointment, the raft ahead was too fast and passed the finish line.
The Harpies sat back in disbelief, and no one said a word.
The first to finish was the Athenians, âLet’s go!â Kozue yelled at the top of her lungs! âWe just won immunity!â Kyomi shook her paddle in the air with triumph.
But their joy was short lived. âHm, it looks like you are missing a teammate.â Allen pointed to the empty spot on the raft.
âBut I thought we just had to finish?â Edvaldo began to look frantic as he talked.
âNope!â Allen smiled. âYou must have all of your teammates finish to win. Speaking of which, weâll have to send someone to find your teammate.â
Just then the real winners crossed the finish line, The Argonauts. âDid we just win?!â Arizona shouted.
âYes, and it was all because of me!â Bea praised.
âSure, you can believe that.â Judith teased Beatrice.
âCongratulations to the Argonauts!â Allen said as they stepped out. âYou just won immunity and added 1,000$ to your team!â
As the Argonauts high-fived and cheered, the next team, the Sirens, floated in.
âI knew we would win.â Aurora got up and tried to get out, but she ended up tipping the raft and knocking everyone in. âUGH! Joshua why did you do that!â Aurora screamed. Josh stared, then shook his head as the others got out.
Next came in the Harpies. As each stepped out, looking downcast, Allen grinned. âWhy the long faces? Your team is safe!â
âHow? We were second to last.â Racehl asked, puzzled.
âWell, lucky for you, the Athenians were disqualified for missing one of their teammates, so your team is safe from voting!â The Harpies looked at each other, then burst out into a clamorous celebration, high fiving each other.Suddenly, the Olympians paddled in. âWell, even though we came in last, at least we worked together as a team?â Alwin offered to his teammates.
âRight, like that was important.â Antin stormed out of the raft.
âWell, looks like the losers of today are the Olympians and Athenians!â Allen called out. âThe rest of you go back to the hotel, Olympians and Athenians come with me.â
Allen and the two teams took a different bus back to the stage, with the others heading to the hotel. When they arrived, they got out and filed into their assigned seats. âI understand that you are upset for losing and have some things you would like to address to your team. So, before you go back to the hotel, what would you like to say?â
The first person to speak was Ziporah, âIf I can talk, the only reason we lost was because Robert led us into that rough patch!â She recounted.
âThe reason we even had a chance in this challenge was because of me.â Robert looked at Ziporah as if she was crazy.
âZiporah, you didnât do anything to assist this team! Antin did ten times better, You barely paddled.â Alwin accused.
âLeave Ziporah alone, I am sure she did I better job than you and Antin.â Vitaliya rolled her eyes.
âI highly doubt that.â He muttered.
âEdvaldo, why did you lie to us?â Kyomi asked, sounding dubious.
âSorry about that… I think I just misheard the guy…â Edvaldo trailed off. âBesides, you were the one to lead us into those rocks.â
âCallum, you knocked off Calvin! What was that for!â Kozue turned the blame towards Callum.
âI already explained, I forgot about my paddle, and I wanted to see if he was alright… Besides, I didnât really see you paddling!â Callum pointed at Kozue.
âWhat if Calvin was just slowing us down… And he fell off on purpose…â Kyomi suggested.
âWhat! Calvin would NEVER do that!â Callum yelled.
âWait, where is Calvin?â Ethnie butted in.
âAnd with that, now it is time to vote! You, the viewers, have one vote per team! So, feel free to vote out whoever you feel the vandal is! Or just vote out whoever you donât like!â
