It does feel kinda like it at times…I’m actually working this whimsy story of fairies, libraries, and evil people eating woods right now that I haven’t introduced here because…*shrugs*

Ma’am. Please introduce your story in more detail. I am currently working on a whimsy story of fairies, cozy homes, and evil people-eating rabbits. We have a few things in common and I would love to hear about your project.

I was actually just thinking about getting someone to read over the first chapter and prologue and give me feedback.

I’m honestly a bit tired of dark stuff and stories that “deal with hard themes”.

I’m always a little annoyed when people say we need more writers dealing with darkness in their stories. Literally 90% of the WIPs I’ve heard about have dark themes like PTSD and abuse, and a lot of published books are the same.

I write dark themes so I don’t think of them poorly, I just don’t like how they’re treated as more important/impactful than other stories.

May I join on this “competition” for the title of blade master? ? (Power, not the Black Mongoose. His Royal Lowness already has a title and is also currently blockade into a cabinet, in detention)

Depends on exactly what you mean by training, but how is this at all writing/ kp related?

As far as titles go, I always thought of you as kp’s local cryptid because of your elusive and random nature lol

XD I’ve never understood that either. Everyone is writing dark stuff and it gets tiresome and depressing. Sometimes I just want a lighthearted book where no one dies, but those are hard to find.

Book recs?? *Squeals* okay, here’s a few of my favorite whimsy books.

A Place to Hang the Moon by Late Albus

The Ogress and the Orphans by Kelly Barnhill

East by Edith Pattou (this one does get kinda darkish, but as in, it’s a rewrite of a Norwegian fairytale where there are evil trolls who let freeze people to death)

I’m not in the competition, I just thought Ellette’s comment was funny.

                          @ellette-giselle

Eh, not in a good long time, and only when my brother was first starting out in it, so to speak. I definitely couldn’t hold my own against a real 14th century knight.

But I’m also learning a lot of medical stuff right now…so I could probably disable him easily in a surprise attack. Lol. That’s not sword training.

I did (and kinda still do) used to want to join a fencing club, preferably sabre. But that’s just dreams and wants…read through the entire International rulebook to make sure a skirt was allowed…*sigh*

Hmm, I do see similarities. Okay, here’s the blurb:

Cookie looking siblings, a begrudgingly helpful fairy, and a librarian who can’t seem to stay out of mischief might make an odd team. But when the younger brother begins to accidentally fulfill an age-old prophesy, it might just be up to his friends to keep their lives —and the kingdom in general— intact.

It’s in a town by the Evil Woods based off the Black Forest in Germany and told from a somewhat unreliable narrator.

Alrighty. I’ll email you the first chapter ect. Warning, it’s pretty rough.

Oops. Cookie loving. How did I get a typo in a pretyped, typo-less blurb…

choose a title that you want. I can’t really give one to myself. It was just a humble petition.
