Hey guys, I’m kind of excited! I have a study connected to my bedroom (it’s one of the reasons my dad noticed the house on the market, because I mentioned the pretty built-in desk). I have cleaned the room and I am currently finding decor.
Does anyone have ideas for dark academia/steampunk decor? Stuff you’ve always wanted to see in rooms like that?

thrift stores all the way! I got a super cute electric lantern for like 3 bucks, it looks kinda steampunky. Also, you can find artwork prints in the style you like and print them out at the library (or at home if you have a color printer). I really like getting little frames at the dollar store, every now and then they have nice ones. If your parents let you stick stuff to the wall you can make like a art collage, it’s one of my favorite things to do. I use masking tape to put up artwork, but I stick the tape against a pair of jeans or something fuzzy first to reduce the sticky, just to make sure it leaves the paint nice when I take it off.

Unfortunately, the only experience I have with room decorating is from putting glow in the dark stars on my ceiling or from when I impulsively bought a venus fly trap. Neither of which are steampunky. I’m so helpful XD

And steampunk as in the genre, if that makes sense.
There is no way my study will look this dark, though, or as detailed. It’s probably going to be a more light academia with less wood decor, more vintage items. I would make detailed wood pieces, but sadly, I have no skill, materials, or money.
Edit: Also my desk wood is very, very light, so even if I had all those things, I’m too attached to the desk, and it wouldn’t change.
So that picture is just a dream. XD
