I know I said I wasn’t officially back yet, BUT NOW I AM!
Welcome back! Oh, part 4!
The story teller threw the book onto the pile he had made and sat there, wandering what he was to do.
Wondering what he was to do?
“If I could write a story that explains this all, I might even become a famous historian!”
I was wondering what his motivation would be. It didn’t quite seem to fit that he just wanted to restore the kingdom, so I’m glad there was this as well.
Looking forward to the next part.

I haven’t actually watched either of these seasons all the way through. I know they are considered some of the best of Ninjago, and from what I know of them, Lloyd is pushed through some very interesting character development, but I don’t like the Oni and the Garmadon resurrection. (One problem I wish Ninjago didn’t have is that it’s best seasons have the most content concerns.)
I loved those two seasons. The lore is the most solid out of everything and I enjoyed the First Realm banishment part, it would be great if they went back to that realm, but they never did. (The Oni are a species from that realm.) There are also some cool flashbacks.
Basically Cole gets to be a dad for a while. The writers knew he used to be the leader of the ninja but got demoted, so they focused on his relationship with Wu instead.
I’m not bothered by the resurrection part because it’s clearly ‘evil’ and Good Garmadon told Lloyd he never wanted to be resurrected. And so only the bad parts of him came back to life. I thought that was a cool consequence.
But yeah, you can skip pretty much any season and still catch up. 😅

Yeah, that’s pretty much why I still watch it. Nostalgia, plus to cringe at the recent seasons :p
Cristalized wasn’t good, but Dragons Rising is not bad… except… I really don’t like the direction they are taking with Cole. I know it’s not official yet, but they are stepping as close to the line as they possibly can without crossing it. And unlike with Oni or dark restrictions, this is not being portrayed in an evil way. For that reason, I don’t really want to continue watching and supporting the show.
Otherwise, I would really like Dragons Rising. Having students has pushed the ninja to become menotrs and is opening the door for more character growth. The merge was genius. In season 2, Kai was great! (He’s my favorite and I really like how he’s a father figure to Wyldfire). Also, with the new ninja Arin, they can go a new direction that they could not go with any of the classic ninjas. (I may or may not be hooked on his story and still following it even if I’m no longer watching the show).

Yup. I did watch most of season 10 and enjoyed that despite the Oni.

Crystalized was pretty bad, but I don’t think Dragons Rising is very good, either. I could rant about it, but I’m not going to because nobody wants that :p
I’ll just say the thing that bothers me the most about it is the way they’re trampling over all the lore they’ve already established. The stuff they’re introducing just doesn’t work at all with what’s already been established.
