Congrats on finishing! You work so fast!

Also that moodboard looks awesome. Have you read All Quiet on the the Western Front? It’s about WWI and it’s really great at showing what it felt like to be a soldier in the war. It’s also pretty dark, though (obviously. It’s about war.) so it might not be good for you to read if you’re sensitive to that kinda stuff.

But anyway, I’m excited to hear about your next book!

@loopylin Aww, tysm!!! 💗💗 I’ve heard of that book several times…I may try to look into it soon 🙂

Aww, thank you!!! This WWI WIP isn’t my next one…but I had to share the aesthetic XD My next book will be Leon/Riker’s sequel, which I hope to have the first chapter of soon to share 😉

Aww, thx!!! ikr? So sadddd 😭 (both MCs have negative arcs in it…😞😔😭)

It’s Felix, The Bois’ Dad, and Felix’s younger brother (and main villain of Leon/Riker’s first Novel) Hans. Yes…that Hans 😬

But they used to be so different 😭

Legit, the main quote/moment of their book is this (the probably ending…so sad 😭):

        “We fought the war, brother.”

Hans looked out at all the carnage…all the barbed wire…all the senseless bloodshed, and he slowly faced Felix, coal eyes brimmed with tears. “…I think the war won.”

and it makes it so much worse when “I think the war won” is what Hans says again right before he dies in Leon/Riker’s novel…I actually cried when Hans died, y’all 😭😭

            Important question!!!

Does Hans get redeemed before he dies…??

Also whenever I read about Hans, I always think of the prince in Frozen XD

@smiley I’m sorryyyyyy *offers you cookies*

Listen tho, I considered having him redeemed for a while, but I had to realize the sad reality that not everyone will choose redemption, and though no one is too far gone for redemption until they’re already deceased, there are those who will never choose it, and sadly, Hans had to be one of them 😔

Hey y’all…I know y’all have known about my book longer than a lot of other people I regularly chat with on here, lol…so I wanted y’all’s input.

Sooo y’all know what happens with Leon and Riker, how Leon forgives him and all?

Wellllll…I’ve been thinking lately, and I’ve been thinking (and y’all feel free to put in your inputs) that it would be even more powerful if, instead of Riker going to apologize to Leon one last time, Leon seeks out Riker, wanting to tell him that he’s forgiven him…but what do y’all think?

                    Should Riker go to Leon?

Or should Leon go to Riker?

                            @freedomwriter76

Leon seeking Riker is much more powerful – even if he doesn’t succeed. He might not know where exactly to look, but Leon looking for Riker shows his heart. I like it.

Also, another thing I’ve been meaning to mention to you: I was reading an autobiography that made me think of you. It was by Benjamin Urshan, a minister born in “Persia” in the early nineteen hundreds. He survived four death marches before he was thirteen. He expressed that books about mass murder don’t usually realize the immense sorrow that survivors go through. They have lived staring death in the face, and they have lost people they love. Everything they built is destroyed.

I realized this is true. Children’s books will naturally focus on the adventure, but even what I know about older genres focus more on anger (certainly a part of sorrow, but not quite whole devestation). The interesting thing is that we all go through sorrow – maybe not that kind, but it’s there. Revenge is a natural coping method, but most people don’t do it. Benjamin Urshan’s family slowly put their life back together, rebuilt their home, replanted their vineyard, and tried to live on (untill the kids fled one by one, but that’s another story.)

Anyway, I just wanted to share that with you, since you’re writing what you are. Leon definitely goes through a lot. I really enjoy your approach to the Holocaust, though. It’s not as heavy as some things I’ve read, yet it doesn’t shy away from the truth.

You have listened to fears, child. Come, let me breathe on you... Are you brave again? -Aslan

(You just made me think, and now I feel old. I’ve been around a lot longer than most of the people regularly on here nowadays. XD)

Are you talking about before Riker turns himself in, or the end of the series?

In the former case, I’d like to ask if Riker would even go to Leon? He’s already asked for forgiveness time and again. Does he have hope that Leon will even look at him? I understand if he’s wanting to just have one last try, but it might make more sense if Leon seeks him out (maybe he finds Riker almost right before he turns himself in?).

If it’s the latter, it seems to me that Riker is having trouble believing God’s forgiveness (understandably, but this is a point you would have to deal with). He’s still battering himself over the head with sins that are blotted out of the Book, so to speak. They’re no longer on record. I think it would be more powerful if Riker asked Leon, and Leon reminds him that all his sins are washed away by the Blood of the Lamb, that there’s nothing left to forgive (perhaps as the final drive home of your theme?).

Anyway, there’s my thoughts. I hope they aren’t too rambled. XD
