I like the detail in that chart of Bryce talking to himself, because he really does “talk to himself”

The tips of Ellis’ pointed ears were red with embarrassment, but he bowed politely to Ari as they were introduced. He studied Ari’s face, unsure if he could trust his own memory. Was it him? It had to be. Better to trust his gut. He opened and closed his mouth a couple times before finally saying, “I need to warn you about something.”

Y’all I just got out of class and there’s a weather front coming in that just made the temperature outside drop to 78° and cloudy. This is beautiful.

Stillness crept down his spine. He watched Moth’s friend, wary. I need to warn you. Even his own patchy social record said those weren’t the usual first words out of someone’s mouth.
Creative if nothing else. He raised an eyebrow.

Also, I rolled dice to decide who was in Ellis’ vision and Ari was the lucky winner lol @whalekeeperEllis
So that’s what Moth had meant by spooking people with his eyes. Ellis squared his shoulders and forced the words out a bit quicker. “I saw- There’s going to be an intruder in your bed chamber tonight. Tall. I didn’t see his face. You should sleep with a sword.”

The boys entered the library. Bryce’s mouth fell agape for a moment upon seeing the vast room, filled with rows upon rows of books.
Approaching a shelf, he pulled the spine of an old, dusty history book out of its slot. Bryce let the book fall into his hands, then he squinted the cover. Every word was in some foreign language.
“Guess I’m not reading that one,” Bryce said, keeping a low voice in the quiet library. He shoved the book back into its spot, then turned back to Jack.
Just a second later, Bryce heard a faint voice, yet it was not coming from anywhere around them. When he concentrated, he realized it was coming from his pocket. Bryce’s jaw tightened. A.V.I.Y.E was trying to get his attention.
Once more, Bryce dug into his pocket, clamping a fist around his earpiece to muffle the robot’s voice. He also fumbled to remove the battery from his beeping gadget… his medical device. Sure, he needed it to live and all, yet he could not have himself loudly beeping around medieval royalty.

I’m considering throwing in another character that’s actually royalty. I’m just trying to decide who….
I have Prince Joshua of T’kayon. He’s pretty nice. Usually. Over sevent feet tall.
There’s also Everett, who becomes king of T’kayon. We’ll just say things happen and Joshua does not actually become king. Everett’s just under seven feet tall.
And I also have a character named Raynen from an abandoned WIP. He’s the prince of a wild country and he has a shapeshifting ability. Idk how I would do adding him here because he’s pretty crazy. He’s not tall. In fact, he is under five feet tall but he is fourteen.

He absently ran the end of his tongue over the seaping cut in his lip.
“Thoughtful of you to tell me.” This could be interesting. “You saw this? Where, and what exactly did you see?”
His bedchamber. Well, perhaps he might just have to stage an ambush of his own. Anticipation pooled in his stomach.
Who would try such a thing against a Verenion?
He nearly grimaced. Other than the insane or death seeking…he did have brothers.
“This man didn’t happen to look anything like myself, did he?”

Joshua, Everett, and Raynen all sound cool (my phone tried to “correct” Raynen into ramen…*dies*). As a short slightly chaotic individual myself, I kind of lean towards Raynen, but toss whichever one you want. Or don’t if you feel like that would be a lot (but if it is you can always pull one out).

“I don’t know. It was dark.” There was a twinge of pain behind his eyes. He closed them for a moment. Ari’s questions were a bit annoying. Ellis was used to everyone at home already knowing about his gift. Explaining was going to start getting repetitive. “I saw it in a vision. About five minutes ago. Sorry to dampen the mood.”

The academy library was located in one of the school building’s towers. It was huge, covering two entire floors. There were writing desks, window sill reading nooks, and, of course, books. Plenty of books.
Jack took his time admiring everything. He wished he could take his siblings here. They would love it, especially Cody.
He glanced at Bryce out of the corner of his eye. Once again, the boy had his hand shoved deep into his pocket, with a focused but panicked look on his face.
“Alright, enough is enough.” Jack leaned against a bookshelf next to Bryce, a teasing smile on his lips. “I didn’t care at first, but you’ve been trying so hard to hide it, that now I’m curious. What’s in your pocket?”

He nodded. He wasn’t sure what a mood was or why it would be damapened, but he had heard about visions. Just none within the last two centuries.
Brother’s or no, tonight was going to be an… adventure. If this kid was telling the truth.
“Good, good.” His spreading smile kindled the light in his eyes. “Finally something interesting.”
