Bryce
Bryce almost grimaced. Right… Neuroscience was not really a thing here. “Well, nah,” he shrugged. “I don’t expect we’ll find much on that. It doesn’t have much to do with ruling a kingdom. Like I said, it’s more of a thing I study for fun.”
To change the subject, Bryce explained, “I’ll probably search for something about government and laws and all that great stuff.”
That would definitely inform him of how these other kingdoms were run, which was information he could report to H.O.M.E. That was, if Bryce could get the ‘Annoying Voice In Your Ear’ robot to contact H.O.M.E.
“Are you looking for anything specific in the library, or just looking around?” Bryce asked curiously.
The next second, he heard a faint beeping. His jaw tightened and he frantically dug in his pocket for his little device, pressing a button to make it shut up. Bryce made his expression soften, throwing a glance at Jack to see if the boy had heard his obnoxious gadget beeping.
Kavan hit his head so hard once that he dreamed he was a loaf of bread.
August 28, 2026 at 9:02 pm #213502But people will get hurt, Ari included even if he won’t really care
Oh I know. We will all have to sign a waiver to let our characters get beat up. I think there is plenty of fighting potential in this story and I bet Ari will be at the forefront of that, hehe. Such is his nature.
I don’t know how his magic system works exactly, but he can probably hold his own.
My WIP has a soft magic system right now. In other words, Moth’s power is untapped. I know he is powerful – tied with one of my other characters as the most powerful I’ve ever made up – but chaotic faerie magic is difficult to put limitations to.
Hopefully I cook up some rules before he gets into a real fight.
It’s so funny that we all already don’t like Jasper
Because I let y’all into his POV, that’s why. I could have tried to hide his less savory traits by putting him in an omniscient POV, but you guys would have found that suspicious. *Sigh*
I mean, Remi is technically right in some ways. It is entirely possible for everyone in this RP to be friends with Jasper and not get into conflict.

August 28, 2026 at 9:17 pm #213503Sassy Ellis. He will get himself in trouble if he doesn’t accept this weakness.
Good thing he didn’t say that, because Moth would start soul searching, asking himself if it’s possible to be like a mother if you’ve never had a mother
Moth
I should wonder if you are aware of it. “Was it like a dream? The vision?”

August 28, 2026 at 9:19 pm #213504@whalekeeper I could see Jasper befriending my boys actually, if he wanted to. (Probably not Jack, though) He would just have to tread carefully with the Stormwatchers since they’re both so easily offended.

There are to many points to comment on. Just know I love this twist.
A big fight isn’t necessary. I think it would be over dramatic to involve everyone directly, especially since logically, that would make Jasper the victim. But how should this be played…. The fall out will probably result in sides being taken. (In which sides there are smaller sides etc.) Hmm… What will Wilhelm do?

I don’t feel like editing that. Hopefully nothing egregious is in there.
Wilhelm
Jewels on a sword. They rasped against reason. Surely such ornamentation should be reserved for a better weapon, for the Holy Blades, which would not be openly worn but in war? Hollow, hollow, again the thought echoed. Instead of breaking the staring contest, Wilhelm focused harder on Jasper. On the beautiful face of a royal noble. Shaped by a leniege of frivilous power.
Hollow, hollow.
Jasper’s gaze jumped free.
Wilhelm shook away the instinct to feel relief and kept up his study of the prince. He pivoted as Jasper shifted forward. Never opening his back to the stranger, Wilhelm looked to see what had caught his attention.
Young men sparing filled the fighting mats inside, except for one space which was being rapidly vacated. Recognition was loud in Jasper’s movements. Wilhelm stepped away from the boy and a little behind him, a golden blue shadow suddenly estranged.

August 28, 2026 at 11:24 pm #213510I love how Wilhelm knows nothing bad about Jasper, but has distrusted him since he felt Jasper was trying to control their first conversation. He sees the boy as a manipulator, someone who wants power but has not actual authority. (Which Jasper probably has a lot but Wilhelm hasn’t seen it lol.)

August 28, 2026 at 11:32 pm #213511Oh chocolate gravy, the poor boy could have been caramel glazed by now.
I believe we left it at LeQoi waiting for Callum to wake up. Let’s say he’s currently standing to one side of the main kitchen tasting a fresh pannatone bread.
A cup of tea is cheaper than therapy.

hehe I figured that might confuse him
EllisEllis’ eyes unfocused as he remembered what he had seen. “A nightmare, more like. I saw shadows of people and… There aren’t wolves living in the forests around here, are there?”

Valid. Wilhelm has a good sense of stranger danger, even if he has to repress that a little to make new friends.
Jasper
The two Stormwatchers got into what seemed like a little conflict. The older left while the younger recovered.
Jasper watched from afar for a few more seconds. But he managed to pull himself back into what he had been doing. He had to stop people-watching when other people were watching him.
”What weapons do you like to fight with?” he asked Wilhelm. He gestured towards Wilhelm’s sword. “Just that, or do you like to dabble around?”
Speaking of, it would be nice to dig around the gym and find something new to test on a target. Perhaps a weapon he didn’t even know the name of yet. An interesting foreign weapon was the best way to entertain himself on even the dullest days.

August 29, 2026 at 12:16 am #213514Moth
”I do not know.” A nightmare in the middle of the day sounded unpleasant.
Moth looked around until he found exactly what Ellis needed. A drink of water. A small public water basin was installed near the gymnasium entrance, made of stone and a curved pipe. He strode over, filled a paper cup with water, and brought it back to Ellis.

😂 Okay. I have to go to bed, but this will continue in the morning.

August 29, 2026 at 12:27 am #213516Callum did wake up. This is the most recent rp entry I could find:
Callum
Callum woke up dizzy. His ears buzzed. Hot water soaked his shirt and knees, and he slowly found himself to be on the floor in a puddle of water.
Oh, right. The chef had deigned to speak to him.
His face flushed with embarrassment, and he clutched his head, trying to regain his sense of balance. He stumbled back to his feet.
The other scullery children backed away and made room for him. Their wide eyes followed his every move.
What was Callum going to do? He had fainted – in front of a master chef, no less. He had only been in the kitchen for a few hours.
So much for trying to fit into the kitchen staff.
Maybe he should give up this idea. He was too skittish to ever become a high-ranking, world-class chef. It was a weird thing for a nobleman to want to do, anyway. Noblemen were supposed to study politics and let other people do manual work.
