His grin was back with a dose of malicious amusement. He waited until the hurried steps and shocked conversation took themselves away before slowly lifting his head. A prickly legged insect crawled over his hand. He ignored it.
“I think they’re gone. We should probably scuttle off before anyone comes back.” But he didn’t move from his place half buried in the dry mulch.

Both Ellis and I are very concerned about Remy at the moment, but for very different reasons lol
Ellis
Ellis watched the Remington go with the same cold intensity behind his blue eyes. His mind was racing.
Callum was still here. “That was weird. I wouldn’t have liked it if he asked me that.”
“Yeah.” Several emotions flickered across his face, before finally settling on tiredness. His shoulders relaxed and he took another drink from his lemonade.
Lucian paused further up the hall and looked back questioningly. He seemingly had missed the strange interaction.
“Goodnight, Callum,” Ellis said. “It was nice talking with you. Stay… safe.”

Moth
Pulling a thorn out of his heel, Moth whispered a few choice words in an old language. He had heard other people say things when they got hurt, so he decided to give it a go. His heel didn’t stop hurting.
“Perhaps they’ll forget about this in the morning. But yes, we should go. Do you think you can climb up to your room?”

Idk why, but the way you wrote Ellis in the last post made me like him more.

“I will. Good night, Ellis.”
Callum looked down at the lemonade glass in his hand. It had been the perfect cool drink on a warm evening. His drink, unlike the others, had a sort of gradient, turning purple at the bottom. He swished it around, and took another sip. “Hyacinth syrup. Huh.”

Did Moth just swear? If he had, Ari didn’t recognize the language. He levered himself up on his elbows to look at the other boy. His eyes appeared strangely bright in the shadows.
“Of course. I can climb just about anything.” It was a bland statement of fact. However, concern leaked into his next words. “Are you alright? We hit ground pretty fast.”

”Of course.” Moth reached out his hand to help Ari up. “Good thing you told me what to do.”
He pulled Ari to his feet, and the two of them crept their way through the gardens. A clear, paved walkway surrounded the back of the academy, lit by lanterns, and patrolled by a couple servants. Bedroom lights flickered silently in the windows above.
“They’ll move on in a few seconds, I should think.” Moth kept one eye on Ari, watching for the moment when the human boy chose to dart forward.

It seems like no one wants to be out at night except Wolfgang. And maybe Wilhelm by proximity. If that’s true, maybe we skip this night
But it depends on what y’all want to do.
This is very much like Minecraft, I feel like. Everyone has to sleep to skip to morning.
