I finished the scene!! it’s for book 5
and I love it!!
Yelena, Bucky, Steve, and Sam all awaited for Ava’s command. As it turned out Bucky’s help was none other than Ava Starr, a once Shield soldier who had powers, well unlike any other.
Ava had been the first one to examine this red room base, checking to see if there were guards or any threats to be aware of since she could be invisible. Then Yelena, Steve, and Bucky would go in and do what was needed, and Sam was playing the getaway driver or pilot in this case.
“Where are we at Ava?” Yelena asked over the earpiece.
“I don’t see anyone, I think this place might be abandoned,” Ava stated.
“You mean to tell me we did all of this just for the place to be empty?” Sam asked, turning to look at Yelena.
“Yes, ’cause this was such a waste of your valuable time.” Yelena opened the Quinjet door. She then gestured for Steve and Bucky to follow, throwing a glance at Bucky. “Just like home, right Buck?”
Bucky looked at her. “This wasn’t me,”
Yelena shrugged his defense off and walked out. She wasn’t ready to hear what Bucky had to say.

Yelena entered the small room, it was the computer room/office area. All the technology looked up to date, which meant this place wasn’t abandoned that long ago.
Yelena secured her braid and got to work, looking through every computer. File by file, until finally, she found what she needed.
She reached into her pocket and pulled out Dreykov’s prized ring. For a second all was silent, as she spun the ring around in her hand, she had seen so many times as a child, telling herself that someday she would get away and never have to look at it again. Yet here she was, holding it, she couldn’t run away, she had to stay and help the other widows. The red room would always follow her, and she could never just look away.
Yelena brushed away the thought and scanned the ring against the little scanner thingy that no doubt Peter knew the name of. She didn’t care to know.
The computer recognized it and pulled up the encrypted file. She pulled out her flash drive and downloaded it onto that. Her body was hunched over the desk as Steve walked in, only he stopped and just looked at her.
She turned her head to look at him. “What?”
“Nothing,” Steve swallowed, leaning against the metal door frame. “You just looked so much like your sister.”
Yelena looked at him for a second, seeing a clear pain on his face. He showed what she felt inside. “I have what we need, we better get going,” Yelena stated, passing by Steve out the door without looking up to match his eyes.
Yelena wasn’t her sister, she could never be her sister, and she hated being put in a shadow she could never live up to.
Steve and Yelena meant Ava in the hallway. She slipped off her mask and for a second her body glitched but she quickly got a hold of it. “Did you find anything?”
“Just an encrypted file that they were trying to hide, I’m hoping Spider Genius can hack into it,” Yelena said with a sarcastic tone in her voice.
They found Bucky in the main room, the first room all widows saw. Built with metal and concrete, it had the coldest feeling and gave the young girls an idea of what their lives would look like from then on. But Yelena wasn’t taking in the sights but instead the person beside Bucky.
A young girl, Yelena would guess she was around six or seven. She had long dirty blond hair that was quite greasy, hazel eyes, and a skinny complexion from what she could only guess was a lack of food or water. Her skin was covered with grim and bruises and probably a few cuts too, and her clothing was quite worn.
She clutched a teddy bear (that looked completely worn out too) for dear life in her right hand. A sign that the red room hadn’t brainwashed her yet, cause no widows are allowed to have such items.
“This is Bree, Bree the Avengers,” Bucky had never been known for drawn-out introductions.
Bree didn’t say anything, but she showed a hint of fear. Yelena recognized the fear, she had the same fear in her eyes at the end of her family’s “big adventure”.
“Well if we’re done here we should probably get going, no doubt Sam is getting bored.” Steve directed.
They began to leave only Bree didn’t follow. Yelena was the first to turn around and see the little girl standing there. Yelena walked over, putting a smile on her face. “It’s alright you can trust me,” Yelena rolled up her jacket sleeve to reveal the red room tattoo or imprint they put on all the widows. “I’m a widow too, and I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure you never have to come back here.”
Bree looked at the tattoo and then matched eyes with Yelena. She still didn’t say anything, but she didn’t need to. Yelena held out her hand and Bree accepted grabbing it with her other hand that wasn’t gripping the teddy bear.
They entered the Quinjet to find Sam wearing headphones, he seemed to be caught up in his own little world, which is why Yelena had the most fun pulling off one side of the headphones and whispering in his ear. “We’re back,”
Sam got up quickly and slipped off his headphones, giving an annoyed look to Yelena.
Steve took a seat in the co-pilot seat. “Troubled man soundtrack?” He asked with a grin.
“Perhaps,” Sam said, flashing a smirk to Steve. Bree walked over to the control board and looked at all the buttons. Sam looked at her and then raised an eyebrow at Steve for an explanation.
“This is Bree, she and an encrypted file were all we found.”
“Very eventful,” Sam then leaned in closer to whisper to Steve. “Does she speak English?”
Steve shrugged. “Bucky was the only one who got a word out of her so I wouldn’t know.”
Sam scoffed. “Yeah cause out of everyone, she decided to trust the guy with the creepy metal arm.”
“I don’t think anyone asked you, Sam,” Bucky stated, shooting a glare at Sam.
Ava appeared next to Bree, frightening both Steve and Sam for a second.
“Could you not do that, might be scary to the-” Sam pointed at Bree. “-kid,”
Only Bree seemed unfazed by it but instead looked up at Ava. Ava looked at Sam. “Yes, she seemed traumatized by that.”
Steve was clearly holding a laugh.
Ava looked at Bree and smiled. “Come on let’s go sit down,” Bree followed her and took a seat beside Ava. Yelena on the other side of Ava.
The plane ride was mostly quiet, except for the chatting between Sam and Steve and the occasional comments from Bucky.
Bree stayed quiet and nobody pressured her to say anything, Yelena knew nobody knew what Bree had gone through besides her and Bucky. Yelena only wished she could have gotten here sooner and saved Bree, before she had a chance to see any of it.

Yeah, I know that sucks. Trust me, I’ve been there.
I always try to just write what I’m feeling motivated to write in that moment, even if it’s something totally new and/or totally different. Like, today I thought about working on the Avengers as kids AU (bc I know everyone’s been reading it✨🩷) but I didn’t really have motivation for it, so I’m writing Leon/Riker’s 2nd novel instead.
And if you don’t really have motivation at all, that’s okay too.
You can also look up writing prompts, dialogue prompts, etc…those are both fun and have helped inspire me to write.
But if you’re just not inspired right now, maybe you can try doing other things you enjoy right now, like drawing and other things like that
But trust me, I do understand bc I’ve been there.
I’m always here to chat if you need/want someone to talk to <3

Y’all wanna see how much extra time I had on my hands for a couple days??
and this shall also reveal how much I think about Marvel😂 (some are from the internet; others are mine, hehe)
HEADCANON TIME!!!!!!!
• Bucky needs coffee in the morning to function and gets grumpy when he doesn’t get it
• Steve doesn’t let anyone see the drawings in his sketchbook; he randomly sketches his friends when they’re not paying attention
• Pietro listens to soothing music before he goes to sleep bc it reminds him of his mom and thus helps him sleep better
• Pietro hates cleaning his room
• Wanda makes breakfast for everyone every morning bc she loves to cook and it reminds her of the breakfasts her mom made every morning
• Loki uses coffee to help him sleep
• Thor uses white noise to help him sleep
• Bucky has random headaches, along with the occasional full on migraine bc of all his programming
• Steve doesn’t like lilacs being around him bc it was Sarah’s favorite flower and she always had them around and lilacs were the flowers at her funeral
• Steve loves burrowing under a thick, fuzzy blanket at night bc Sarah always used to make sure he was warm and had as many blankets as she could spare overtop of him at night (and it reminds him of the winter when it was so cold he would usually sit in his mother’s embrace even in daytime)
• Tony refuses to eat Steak, Green Beans, and Roasted Potatoes when they’re all together bc it was his mother’s favorite meal
• Bucky is afraid of needles bc of all the experiments Zola did on him
• Pietro randomly takes small pieces of trash, things like trinkets, lockets, etc and gives them to Wanda, who has made a collection of all of his presents
• Wanda learned Guitar bc her father played it
• Wanda will often/randomly play a song on her guitar, complete with singing, that their father played to Pietro
• Wanda often sings one of their mother’s lullabies to Pietro when he has a nightmare
• Steve taught Pietro how to spar; now Pietro is always asking when he can do sparring with someone else
• Peter keeps teaching Avengers like Thor, Loki, Steve, and Bucky all of the “lingo” everyone uses/used, like SUS, Yeet, Based, etc, and Tony gets annoyed by it.
• Steve brings a notepad and pencil to meetings on occasion to sketch when the meeting is going nowhere
• Bucky and Pietro bond over their shared experiences of being experimented on/caring for younger sister(s)
• Bucky is a huge LOTR nerd
• Steve is a big Chronicles of Narnia nerd
• Wanda was introduced to LOTR by Bucky and CON by Steve and loves both things IMMENSELY
• Natasha uses Steve to open jars she can’t open
• Clint taught Sam how to win at darts almost every time, but he won’t let Sam play against him bc of that
• Wanda always makes tea when someone has a cold
• Sam has a growing collection of random pictures of random pigeons all with names like “Cousin Boyd”, “Aunt Anna”, “Uncle Jameson”, etc written on them bc Bucky prints/makes them for him every Christmas as his Christmas gift, saying that they are Sam’s family photos
• Tony doesn’t know/realize that the reason Bucky is always sneaking into his lab and stealing stuff is bc he’s intrigued by it and is a massive nerd
• Bucky Barnes has Selective Dissociative Amnesia due to the trauma he endured bc of Hydra
• Pietro almost looks up to Steve as if he was an older brother
• Tony does a yearly video full of pictures and videos of things they’ve done/experienced that year when the Avengers are/were together@freedomwriter76

and in civil war, Bucky and Steve are sharing a memory about how Bucky spent three bucks on a girl to win her a teddy bear

srrsly tho, there could be a lot of other factors…what kind of job did Bucky’s father have? (bc if he worked certain jobs, he wouldn’t have lost his…in the comics, he was in the Army, soooo) If Bucky’s dad was in the Army, he could, theoretically, possibly make around $99 a month, whereas Steve’s mother could be making more around $52 a month, plus, Bucky’s mom could also be working, and Bucky could have had a job even by the time The Hobbit came out…
…there’s just a lot of factors

I just realized this a few days ago…
…the American eugenics movement was growing/popular in the 1930s…
…and according to the “standards”…
…Steve was probably one of the ones labeled as one that needed to be eradicated or at least sterilized…
…and…yeah…I kinda thought about writing a fic about that…
…bc in a lot of ways, probably the only way Steve would have been saved from the Government is with the intervention of the community coming together to prove that Steve is fine and he’s right where he needs to be…
…and I just imagine Bucky’s family being the ones that began the push for the community to do that.

and that would be another reason why Steve is so supportive of freedom, and cares a lot about Wanda/Pietro and really feels for Natasha (if/when he figured out what happened to her) and yeah, there’s another headcanon forming in my head 0_o
