I love it when tough guy characters suddenly become awesome dads.
Probably why The Bad Batch is so fun to watch for me. The Mandalorian too (although I feel like the overmarketing for that one makes me less into that aspect and more into the fact that Mandalorians are just sheer kick-butt awesomeness, but that’s beside the point).
You know what, come to think of it, I think most of the Star Wars shows have a character who’s like that. It’s one thing I love almost as much as redemption arcs, lol.
Where'd I get ya this time? The liver? The kidney? I'm runnin' outta places to put holes in ya.

Bucky pretended to topple over when they landed more blows of the swords; he dropped Charlotte on the nearby couch and tumbled to the floor.
Mason and Branson charged over to him, hitting him with the foam swords.
Mason brought his sword down. “We have stopped you, dragon!”
Branson rose his sword. “You will never take Queen Mama and Princess Grace!”
Charlotte, seemingly getting caught up in the moment and only wanting to play with her older brothers, grabbed onto a part of Branson’s sword and helped him “vanquish” the dragon, thus betraying her own side.
Alpine and Tangerine rushed into the room and joined in, jumping onto Bucky’s chest, both cats meowing at everyone around.
Madelene couldn’t help but laugh.
Bucky laid his head back and closed his eyes.

Okay so yes she could be exactly what he doesn’t need or she could be exactly what he does need
She has such a bright attitude and while she can be crazy and sarcastic she also takes on life with a sense of humor, Bucky hasn’t really had much joy, and finding the happy lining in anything is hard for him
so Yelena could bring him out of his comfort zone
and he could help her with her guilt and where to focus her abilities
(Also please don’t think I’m trying to argue or anything, I enjoy debating but never once do I ever hate or try to bring anyone down, I just enjoy sharing my opinions and in the end, we both write our own fanfics and can make the decision, like in your fanfics Bucky is always a main character, where in mine Wanda is, we’re entitled to our own opinions and can go life with out changing the other’s mind)
