C h a p t e r 1
She carefully stirred the chili, careful to be sure it didn’t boil over, and even more careful to make sure it didn’t splash out of the pot.
A gentle tug on her arm made Wanda look down. She smiled gently at her daughter. “Do you need something, Azalea?”
Her six-year-old daughter shook her head, her loose blonde curls bouncing as she did so. “No, Mama…I just wanted to know what you’re doing. Can I help?”
“Of course, but you need an apron,” Wanda took a small pink apron off a hook on the wall, “and you’ll need a stool so you can reach.”
Azalea quickly nodded and rushed off to find a stool.
“There’s one in the pantry!” Wanda called after her, setting the apron on the back of a chair.
She chuckled and turned back to the chili.
Having a child certainly brought fun and adventure back into her life.
Having a family almost made her forget about all of her pain.
Almost.
Pain squeezed her chest, but she forced it down.
Azalea rushed back into the kitchen, a stool in hand that she quickly set up. She grabbed the apron and slipped it over her head. “Mama…can you help me tie it?”
“Of course, baby.” Wanda replied, crouching down to help tie her daughter’s apron. She tied it, and Azalea jumped onto the stool.
Wanda handed her the spoon. “Here, you can stir, just be careful.”
Azalea smiled brightly and began to stir.
Wanda smiled, watching her daughter as she stirred the chili.
Wanda untied her own apron and pulled it over her head, taking it off.
“Mama, when can I stop stirring?”
“I thought you wanted to help, sweetheart.” Wanda replied with a small chuckle.
“But my arm’s tired,” Azalea whined, “and I want to play with Daisy.”
Their black and cream-colored German Shepherd that stayed in the fenced in back yard.
Wanda laughed, smiled, and nodded. “Okay, you can go outside and play with Daisy. But put the stool and your apron up, please.”
She took the spoon from her daughter’s hands.
Azalea jumped off the stool, slowly untied her apron, took it off, and put it on the hook. She grabbed the stool and rushed off to put it back in the pantry.
Before long, Wanda heard the back door close behind her daughter.
Wanda smiled.
Azalea was…spontaneous, to say the least, along with energetic and passionate, all traits she’d inherited from her father, along with his blonde hair and blue eyes.
Wanda took a little bit of chili and tasted it. Ah, perfect. And it was cooked, so she could just leave it on the burner to completely finish and stay warm.
She turned the burner on low and put the lid overtop of the pot.
The front door unlocked and opened.
Wanda set down the spoon beside the stove and walked out of the kitchen and into the front hallway.
Steve had just removed his tan leather jacket when his blue eyes found her. He smiled. “Hello there, darling.”
Wanda quickly went into his arms. “Did you have a good day?”
“Sure did,” Steve’s lips briefly met hers, “but how about you?”
“I got plenty of cleaning done while Azalea was at school, so yes, a good day.” Wanda replied with a soft smile.
Steve smiled, but his eyebrows furrowed together, and he looked around the house. He raised an eyebrow. “Where is Azalea, anyways?”
“She’s outside playing with Daisy.”
“She loves that dog.”
Wanda nodded. “She does…and Daisy loves her. It’s good for Azalea to have a dog, it’s certainly taught her how to help take care of something.”
“True,” Steve paused, “and hey, did Pepper-?”
“She called earlier today. I said it was fine if Morgan came over tomorrow for a playdate…Azalea is more than excited.”
“They’ll have a lot of fun.”
Wanda nodded. “Mm hmm. Pepper might be coming over too, so we’ll get to spend time together while the girls do the same.”
Steve grinned. “I’ll be way outnumbered.”
Wanda laughed. “You always are…we even have a female dog.”
“I know…always outnumbered.”
“You could always go see Sam or Bucky.”
Steve shrugged. “True.”
Footsteps sounded.
“Daddy!” Azalea cried, rushing into the room.
Steve pulled away from Wanda and crouched down, arms opened, pulling Azalea into his arms, then standing and holding her in his embrace.
Wanda smiled, watching her husband and daughter.
She loved Azalea with everything she had…and she loved Steve just as much. But even the beauty of her new life didn’t take away the memories of the old one.
It certainly didn’t take away the pain.
Wanda turned away from her husband and daughter.
She turned away before they could see her tears.

ahhh, again, tysm!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ and yessss, I suddenly thought about them having a dog, lol, and thought it would be perfect XXD So glad you like it!!! (also, this flower theme Wanda and Steve are going for when naming their daughter and even their dog…🤣🤣)

I honestly hate Marvel right now because of Wanda,
I can’t watch Wandavision or Multiverse of Madness, but I had one of my friends explain what happens, and it made me so sad, she was such a good character
yes the flower theme is amazing, but if they ever have a boy what flower would they use? (am I giving this too much thought? probably)
and I’m going to listen to it right now XD

Oh by the way, that friend who told about what happens, then told me Wanda made a better villain, and that’s why we aren’t friends anymore XD
