I was looking up “what happened on October 10th” like that’d give me the answer lollllll
although while doing that I found a funny coincidence:
the very thing that started this discussion was also revealed to the world October 10th.

I don’t recommend actually playing the game tbh. There’s quite a bit of blood involved, although I’ve heard you can turn that off, and the character sometimes cuss at each other upon kills. I have bowdlerized their vocabulary in my writing.

#AnduthForever (Lord Willing)@raxforge Most of my stories are rewrites of an existing universe but with something added. For example, this particular one is based off the lore of the video game I posted that image of, but set in a sci-fi universe and written from the perspective of my own character. There’s a good deal of (clean) romance though, and the plot is kinda wonky, so…..
I have other ones, for example the entirety of Star Wars but everyone is half-dragon (with like wings and tails and stuff). That one’s cool, but I don’t have that many stories actually written down for it.

“So, after ye shot Sniper…” Demo began as Medic worked on the slash in his leg.
“Technically, I was only present when he was shot.” Medic corrected, his tail flicking in annoyance at how everyone seemed to make that mistake.
Demo didn’t seem to notice. “…ye brought him back from the dead?”
“Ingeniously so, yes.” Medic’s voice took on the superior quality it often did when he talked about his achievements. “Can I trouble you for the hydrogen peroxide?”
Demo reached over and handed it to him. “Y’know, Doc, I’ve always wondered. If y’can bring a man back t’life an’ whatnot, why can’t ye make me another eye?”
“Oh, of course I can.” Medic replied, beginning to sew his patient’s wound closed. “It’s quite simple really.”
The pain of the injury faded from Demo’s working eye as the realization dawned on him. “Y’mean ta tell me, all these years, ye coulda put me eye back any time ye star-blastin’Â liked?” he hissed, his wings buzzing slightly in annoyance.
“Could have? Mein freund, I’ve given you your eye back at least eight times!” Medic looked at him in disbelief. “And every time, it works perfectly fine, until October, at which point it goes missing and then comes back to attack us!” [Fun fact: A Halloween-exclusive boss fight in the game called “MONOCULUS,” and yes, it’s always supposed to be all caps, is basically just a giant eye that shoots fireballs. This is presumably what he’s referencing.] “The point is, and as a man of science, I do not say this lightly…..that eye socket is haunted.”
“Why don’t I remember any o’ this, then?” Demo asked, more confused than anything now.
Medic froze. “Oh, that.” He then chuckled. “I removed those memories so you’d stop asking about it.”
This took a second to register in Demo’s brain, but with an “Aye, fair enough” he stood up to test out his leg.
Then he paused. “Hold on a second, I did just ask about it.”
“Sadly, memory-scooping isn’t an exact science.” Medic sighed. “My advice would be to stop remembering it.”
“Don’t remember it, got—” Demo’s eye went glassy and his wings went floppy against his body, as if his mind had suddenly reset.
“That’s the spirit!” congratulated Medic. “Also, your leg is fixed, go on out there and see what it does!”
“That ye, kindly stranger!” Demo yelled as he spread his wings and leaped back into the fight.
@rae you might find this funny too lolthis might help @raxforge decide if he wants to read my full fanfic.
