It’s complicated for me, because I use a snowflake method of constantly expanding my outline until it is a paper. I’m planning to hit 20 pages and I have a little less than two weeks to do so. It’s fun, though.

April 10, 2025 at 5:20 pm #201498Gotcha. Twenty more pages, or just twenty pages total?

April 10, 2025 at 5:26 pm #20149920 pages total, 14 already written, and I’m probably going to go a couple pages over that limit. 😂
Are you a sophomore or junior?

April 10, 2025 at 5:32 pm #201500Twenty isn’t too bad! I know, it’s a long paper, but I was thinking senior thesis might have to be longer. Sounds like you’re on track!
I’m a junior, in Challenge 3. We’re doing a Hamlet Mock Trial, and I have two speeches for the end of the year, but besides that not too much more work.

Oh yes. I’m pretty happy with the length requirements because they don’t expect too much, while also allowing for some flexibility. My friend, who has a bunch of extracurricular assignments, is writing 50 pages. I would have been down for that (because my topic is complicated), but my tutor only prepared us one semester in advance.
Yes, I guessed you were junior. XD Which year have you enjoyed the most? I remember playing out a mock trial, but I don’t remember who we did it for. What are your speeches about?

April 10, 2025 at 5:49 pm #201503Also, just out of curiosity… are you going to a homeschool prom in the next three weeks or so? I know you’re closer to me than most, and it’s always fun to check.

April 10, 2025 at 6:58 pm #201504I’ve only done this year and the last half of Challenge 2, but I preferred this one by a lot. Music theory and chemistry was pretty fun, and I also enjoyed American history and Shakespeare (somewhat.)
What are your speeches about?
Umm… good question. One of them is a philosophy lecture, but I’m not really sure what to do for that yet. The other one is for Debate, so history, I think.
are you going to a homeschool prom in the next three weeks or so?
I’m not, but I know there are one or two going on around here. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’m close enough to you that it would be the same one. But yeah, that would be cool.
Do you have a dress already for prom?

April 10, 2025 at 7:05 pm #201505Are…… What?
Y’all are still in Highschool? Or are you at a university already?
Googles ifClassical Conversations is just for K-12.I feel like Inglor.
Very nosy, no one has to answer. Just also hilarious. I just had a 1/4 life crisis is all. XD
Fantastic to see this thread resurrected. I’ll try to sprint later today or tomorrow.
You have listened to fears, child. Come, let me breathe on you... Are you brave again? -Aslan
April 10, 2025 at 7:29 pm #201506I’ve only done this year and the last half of Challenge 2
I have a classmate who started just like that.
I also enjoyed American history and Shakespeare (somewhat.)
History is fun! I like Challenge 4’s history best, but it was cool to learn about all the unfamiliar American events.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I’m close enough to you that it would be the same one.
Well, there we go. 🥲
Do you have a dress already for prom?
Yes, got it yesterday! Dress-shopping scares me like you would not believe. I finally have a princess dress, though.
😂 I am 18 going on 19. Perhaps I am just a young sapling in comparison to the graceful birch thou hast become… Art thou much older?

Oh, cool! Yeah, it was a little weird jumping in mid-year, but I’m glad I did.

Yeah! I really liked that the book we used went through everything in chronological order. That seems like a given, but I don’t think I’ve ever went through an entire history of America in order—more like isolated events and time periods.

That’s exciting! What color? Yeah, dress-shopping can be rough.

April 10, 2025 at 8:10 pm #201509About one revolution of the world around the sun older, so my ancient birch-ness is less alarmed. 😂🌳
T’was a shocking moment of confusion. XD
Ah. Maketh more senseth.

April 10, 2025 at 9:23 pm #201511Maybe if/when you move to Indiana, we’ll end up at a homeschool prom together. I will hopefully go to a prom next year.
@hybrid @whalekeeper
A WHOLE BOOK ON AMERICAN HISTORY???? I’M SOOOO EXCITED!!!!
Also, do you ever make bombs in chemistry? 👀
To err is human; to arr is pirate.

Good! It can be rough jumping from one thing to another.
That seems like a given, but I don’t think I’ve ever went through an entire history of America in order—more like isolated events and time periods.
Yeah, same, up until that point. And for me, we focused more on world history than American history before that year. We go back to world history in Challenge 4, but it’s about scientific exploration and themes like astronomy, literature, medicine, society, etc. and goes through the world development of each of those themes.
That’s exciting! What color?
I’ll show you! *Struggles with camera*
It’s more raspberry than this photo looks. I planned on getting blue because I always get everything in pink. But some things never change. 😛

April 10, 2025 at 9:55 pm #201517Ah, good. I was also mildly bamboozled for a minute. XD
It is a very big book! And I don’t think we made anything too crazy in chemistry, but there were mild chemical reactions, and I dissected a pregnant shark. Maybe that’s irregular, though. Was that in Challenge 2…? 🤔
Hehehehe the teacher will never know… 😂
