That’s actually so cool though!! <33 The most I’ve written in a day is just a little under 4k. I could probably do more, but I’d have to hunker down and do nothing but write all day 😂😂

December 3, 2024 at 12:34 pm #190818WOW. What’s the word count for the two books?
Did you edit the books? Or, did you hire an editor? Also, who did you use to print the books? And who did the cover design?
Yes! I have lots more questions!!!

Two snowballs? Not fair!
I would throw back a lot of snow, but for some reason, it’s warm here in Canada, and our snow is melting (I think it’s 6°C today)
Okay, here we go.
Once upon a time, there was a boy. The boy, like many boys, was named John. And like many boys, he liked building snowmen. However, he had a problem. He could not build any snowmen because he lived on a small island, in the middle of the ocean, where the weather was always warm and tropical. (Also the water around the island was infested by sharks.)
It hadn’t always been that way. Supposedly, there had once been a curse on the land, plunging everywhere into an eternal winter. The island had been covered in several feet of snow. The sharks had stayed long away from the island during that time. The curse had broken the year John had been born. His parents were glad the curse was gone. But John was of a different mind.
“How terribly unfair,” John said. “I have been cursed to miss the curse of snow.”
Oh. That is over 170 words. Oh well. I will pick up what remains of my Canadian snow and hurl it @keilah-h and @whalekeeper 🍁❄️
December 3, 2024 at 2:09 pm #190831I wrote something melancholy, and now I am sad. But it was much more than 50 words, so I guess I get to throw snow now. (My assonance is fabulous today.)

December 3, 2024 at 6:08 pm #190841it’s kinda our Thanksgiving/Christmas vacation. I’m actually in the car on the way back right now.
lol. Everyone asks for word count, and I never know. I measure books by pages when I read, so I naturally do the same for writing. Let me get back to you on that tomorrow when I can look it up on my laptop.
i edited the book until I loved it, and then I asked a fellow author to do a read through for structure edits, and then a friend did the grammatical edits. (I gave each of them a free copy and a gift card. It’s a great arrangement and it’s wonderful that they are willing to do this for me!) honestly, asking a friend or family member to edit is far better then hiring a professional. One of my friends hired an editor just to see what they did, and it was nothing her husband hadn’t done for her on her other draft.
I did all my formatting on Adicus. I payed for it, and you only have to buy it once and you get it for life, all updates included.
after formatting I printed with Barns and Nobel Press. They did a great job and they turned out a really solid product.
I designed all the covers so far, though I have an artist doing my next one. I’ll send pictures of the covers tomorrow if you want to see.
I got an artist for my saga because she does very well with digital art, and that’s not a skill I have. The pencil outline worked for TCWM, but I wanted something different for the saga.great!! Shoot!

December 3, 2024 at 9:31 pm #190847Aaah Snowball!!
Dusk had settled over the little village, and now the only sounds that echoed over the quiet streets were that of the steady drip drop of rain. However, if one were to be out that particular night and walk just out of the village, the faintest music could be heard of a violin.
Take this!

December 3, 2024 at 11:42 pm #190849That’s the most productive I’ve been with writing since Whaley posted her plank challenge thing. Kinda embarrassing how dependent I am on external motivation, lol
There no snow yet where I live, so, uhhhhhhh
